Generative AI (Anthropic's Claude) was used during development to help author and translate the game's pre-written dialogue lines and UI localization (13 languages), and to assist with application code and some store-page graphics. All AI-assisted content is pre-generated and reviewed by the developer before shipping as static text/assets. The game does NOT generate any content live at runtime — in-app chat responses are selected by a fixed, offline rule-based engine from these pre-written lines, and no user data is sent to any AI service.

Desktop Waifu is a virtual anime companion built around a light, simulated romantic relationship with an animated character. Expect affectionate and flirtatious dialogue, terms of endearment, and hearts. One optional personality, "Yandere," is intentionally possessive and obsessive in tone (jealous, clingy lines), which some players may find unsettling. The game contains no sexual content, nudity, graphic violence, drug or alcohol use, or self-harm — all content is text and stylized 2D character animation.
