About This Game

A digital survival-horror board game of desperate survivors and endless infected.

Eight hours. One house. Endless dead.

I built 8 Hours Till Dawn because I wanted to play a co-op game that felt like you and your friends were actually inside your favorite 1968 zombie movie. Not the heroes who figure it all out, but real people making desperate choices in the dark, hoping the next decision is not their last.

You and up to five friends are trapped. The dead are surrounding the house. The sun will not rise for eight hours. Everything you do between now and dawn is the difference between escape and becoming part of the horde.

Each in-game hour is a timed planning phase. The clock gives you the same amount of time every round, but as the night goes on, the decisions stack up, the horde keeps growing, and the weight of every choice gets heavier. Panic is not a side effect of this game. Panic is this game.

What Will Be Available at Launch

Base Game (arcade friend-slop mode)

Pure survival horror. You and your team are in the house, the dead are at every door and window, and you have eight hours to hold it together until dawn. This is where the atmosphere hits hardest and where every wrong decision costs someone everything.

Endless Mode

The sun never rises. The horde never stops growing. You and your friends just keep going until you cannot anymore. No win condition. No rescue coming. Just you, your team, and an ever-increasing horde. See how long you last.

Blades, Barricades, and Boomsticks expansion

This expansion changes the feel completely. You are not just surviving the night now, you are fortifying until help arrives. It plays like the co-op zombie experience you have probably been playing since the late 2000s. Hold the line, fight back the wave, and pray the barricades hold until morning with the base game victory, or barricade all the windows for the new barricade victory. It also introduces cqc weapons nad rules, new characters and much more. 

Build Your Survivor

Every survivor in 8 Hours Till Dawn is unique. Choose from a roster of premade characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, or build your own from scratch. Mix and match different survivor features, pick your favorite hat, Choose a set of survivor traits, to create exactly the survivor you want to bring into the night.

Bigger, Badder, Weapons and Survivors

Each expansion and add-on will add a small amount of weapons and survivors. 
Eventually you will be able to customize what weapons you want to play with. Once that is live even more weapons and survivors will be added with that update so you can customize your experience even more!

Mall Expansion

This shifts the whole game into something that feels closer to a co-op zombie shooter in board game form. Open spaces, resource runs, and a horde that never gives you a single breath. If you have ever wanted to run through a zombie-infested mall with your friends as a board game, this is it.

Campaign Mode (The Full Legacy Experience)

A complete semi-Rougelite game where you choose 8 survivors to tackle the entire base game and all the expansions, going back to the house each night with the new weapons and fortifications you have found with that survivor. Eventually finding all the needed items for escape. or killing off all 8 survivors and starting over. plan what survivors you want to use to make the best of their abilities, store high powered weapons in the weapon deck at the house so you can still use it after a survivor falls to the horde. Upgrade the house with defenses and make the nights easier for the next survivor. Can you save all 8?

I designed this as a four player game. It runs great anywhere from solo to six survivors, but four is the sweet spot the game was built around.
