Why Early Access?

“Reel Greed is my first released game, and Early Access gives me the chance to improve it with player feedback while the core gameplay loop is already playable.
I want to use Early Access to tune progression, improve balance, add quality-of-life features, and expand the game with more upgrades, run cards, patterns, and late-game systems based on what players enjoy most.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My current goal is to leave Early Access sometime in 2026, possibly within a few months after the Early Access launch if development and feedback go smoothly.
That said, the exact timing may change based on player feedback, balance needs, and how much additional content the game needs before it feels ready for a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand the game far beyond the initial Early Access content.
I want to add many more upgrades, run cards, card rarities, patterns, stronger synergies, faster late-game scaling, and much larger money explosions. I am also considering larger progression systems such as prestige, challenge modes, or other ways to keep runs interesting after the early upgrade tree is completed.
The exact content may change based on player feedback, but the goal is for the full version to have deeper progression, more build variety, and a much bigger late-game experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core slot machine incremental loop: spinning the reels, collecting money and coin pickups, buying permanent upgrades, choosing run cards, unlocking patterns, and scaling into faster spins and larger payouts.
At Early Access launch, the game is planned to include a larger upgrade tree than the demo, more run cards, card rarity, more ways to scale winnings, and a more developed late-game progression curve. The game will already be playable, but balance, pacing, quality-of-life features, and late-game content are expected to improve throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do not plan to change the price when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Discord and the Steam forums will be the primary places for feedback, bug reports, balance discussion, and feature suggestions.
I plan to use community feedback to help tune progression, upgrade costs, card balance, quality-of-life features, and future content priorities. I will also share development updates so players can see what is being worked on and how feedback is shaping the game.”
