What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows Astaryn to release with its core experience already playable while development continues based on real player feedback.

Astaryn is a long-term idle fantasy RPG with progression, classes, professions, crafting, dungeons, campaign content, reputation, rewards, offline progress, and balancing systems that benefit from real player data. Early Access will help improve pacing, balance, usability, UI clarity, dungeon difficulty, profession progression, rewards, and overall quality before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Astaryn to remain in Early Access for roughly 3 to 6 months.

This may change depending on player feedback, balancing needs, bug fixing, UI improvements, progression pacing, and how much additional content is needed before the full release feels ready. The goal is to use Early Access to polish the existing experience, improve balance, add more content, and make the game more complete before leaving Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand the amount of available content and progression. The current maximum level is 120, and I plan to increase it by 40 levels, up to level 160.

I also plan to add more campaign content, more regions, expanded progression, additional dungeons, more profession depth, more items, better balancing, a more polished UI, and more quality-of-life features.

The Early Access version already contains the core gameplay loop, but the full version is planned to feel larger, more polished, better balanced, and more complete.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already includes the core Astaryn experience: hero class selection, long-term idle progression, combat strength building, professions, crafting, food and gear preparation, dungeon preparation, rewards, reputation/faction progression, offline progression, and campaign-based advancement.

The current version is fully playable as an alpha-stage Early Access release, with the main systems implemented and progression content already available. Players can start progressing, train professions, prepare their character, improve their strength, follow the campaign structure, and work toward higher-level content.

Players should still expect balancing changes, UI improvements, progression tuning, bug fixes, quality-of-life updates, and additional content during Early Access.

For a detailed breakdown of the current gameplay systems and features, please refer to the “About This Game” section.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“My current plan is to keep the Early Access price accessible while the game is still being expanded and improved.

I do not currently plan to increase the price during Early Access, even as more content, systems, polish, balancing, and long-term progression features are added. The price will stay the same for the full release too.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be very important during Early Access. I plan to use player feedback to improve balancing, progression speed, class tuning, dungeon difficulty, profession progression, rewards, offline progression, UI clarity, and overall quality of life.

Feedback will help decide which systems need more polish, which content should be prioritized, and where the game feels too slow, too fast, unclear, repetitive, or unbalanced.

I plan to keep improving the game during Early Access through updates, adjustments, fixes, and additional content based on both planned development and community feedback.”

Astaryn: Chained Real Idler is a long-term idle fantasy RPG built around a real campaign.

Choose one of eight hero classes, unlock specializations, build your combat strength, train professions, prepare food and gear, earn reputation, clear dungeons, and follow a long journey from forgotten villages to drowned courts, burning marches, sky temples, fractured memories, and the stranger realms beyond the First Sun.

The full 1-120 journey is designed to unfold over months of play. A complete campaign run is intended to take roughly 9+ months depending on offline time, route choices, preparation, dungeon readiness, profession planning, and optimization. Beyond the main route, Astaryn includes long-term goals for rare drops, collection logs, faction progress, pets, mounts, followers, strongholds, raids, and future endgame systems.

A Campaign-Driven Idle RPG

Astaryn is built around an authored story campaign across twelve major regions:

Ashen Hollow, Brackmire Fens, Splintered March, Khelmar Highlands, Verdant Crucible, Sunken Reach, Sablestorm Wastes, Hollowmere Reach, Pale Sun Steppe, Auvendril, the Fractured Vault, and the Vault of the First Sun.

Each chapter introduces new locations, enemies, NPCs, resources, faction threads, dungeon gates, and story milestones. Progress is quest-driven, with over 100 campaign quests leading from the first village errands in Hearthold to memory routes, sky-city politics, final-raid preparation, and the long climb toward Nemothys, the Hollow Sovereign.

Classes, Specs, and Combat Growth

Choose from eight hero classes:

Vanguard, Skyblade, Wardancer, Thornkeeper, Gunhand, Hexweaver, Stormcaller, and Sentinel.

Each class has two specializations, for sixteen total builds, including Bulwark, Ravager, Duelist, Tempest, Twin Edge, Whirlwind, Greenshot, Beastsworn, Marksman, Trickster, Cipher, Voidcaller, Tempest-Singer, Stormbound, Lightbearer, and Vow-keeper.

Combat is preparation-focused. You improve through gear, food, levels, class identity, combat stats, dungeon planning, and profession support. There is no item-loss death punishment. Failure tells you what to improve: more food, better gear, higher levels, stronger stats, a quest unlock, or a better preparation route.

Idle Professions and Preparation Loops

Train idle professions while active or offline. Astaryn currently centers on gathering, crafting, food, and combat support through systems such as Hewing, Quarrying, Angling, Forgewright, Provisioner, Combat, Bladework, Might, Wardplate, and Vitality.

Gather logs, ore, fish, and zone materials. Turn resources into bars, equipment, food, quest items, and preparation tools. Food supports combat survival. Crafting supports dungeon readiness. Gathering feeds crafting. Combat unlocks new zones. Quest progress opens new profession routes.

Advanced profession foundations include future paths such as Apothecary, Sigilwright, Tailoring, Beastlore, Larceny, Cartography, Pyrotechnics, Hollowmender rites, Mithril and Runic Forgewright, Deep-Sea Angling, and other specialist tiers.

Dungeons, Bosses, and Raids

Major chapters end in dungeon preparation and first-clear milestones. Dungeons include Hearthold Crypt, The Drowned Reliquary, Bandit Bastion, Forgeheart Halls, Thornroot Spiral, The Drowned Court, Mount Vrael, The Pale Cathedral, Skyspire Eyrie, The Concord Spires, and the memory dungeons of the Fractured Vault.

Raids and raid foundations include The Sunken Court, the Trials of Iurel, Mhorn, and Aethyn, and the Vault of the First Sun. Final-raid progression is built around readiness checks, preparation layers, encounter previews, faction gates, memory recovery, and long-term advancement toward the final confrontation.

World Systems and Long-Term Progression

Astaryn includes data-backed systems for:

  • Factions and reputation

  • Zone travel and map progression

  • Dungeon first clears

  • Loot tables and rare drops

  • Bank, bag, wallet, shop upgrades, and equipment storage

  • Offline progress with welcome-back summaries

  • Tide cycles: Ashtide, Verdetide, Embertide, and Hollowtide

  • Public events such as Bandit Press-Gang, Tide of the Drowned, and Oracle’s Procession

  • Stronghold buildings

  • Mount previews

  • Profession pets

  • Recruitable followers

  • Advanced profession tiers

  • Collection log entries

  • Long-term account and world progression

Factions include the Tetherwardens, Iron Concord, Vagrant Crowns, Embergild, Verdant Pact, Tideborn Court, Cinderbrand, Pale Communion, Hollow Court, Skywatch, and Listening Veil.

Astaryn is for players who enjoy planning, unlocking, optimizing, and watching a world open slowly over time. It keeps the comfort of idle progression, but gives that progression the structure of a real adventure: named places, recurring characters, chapter finales, faction identity, preparation goals, and a campaign that keeps climbing.
