What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am a solo developer that also owns a coffee shop. My dream for this game is to make it MUCH larger and lore rich with much more to do! We are building an arcade cabinet ad installing it in our coffee shop for customers to play. As I continue to draw and animate and develop new features to add to the game, I would love feedback on the game thus far to motivate me and inspire me to prioritize new things that players would like to see added.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“2-5 years. If there is considerable traction and people like the game and it sells, then I can hire help. But currently, it's just me building and developing and animating all the assets. It took me a year to plan and draw and animate and code and create the base level for this early access version.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to have: a playable card game against a ghost, a hidden boss that requires puzzle solving, a fetch quest, at least another three enemies, a hidden NPC that boosts the player's attack, readable headstones, a character that needs help putting his body back together, a group of lonely ghosts looking for friends, and an underground tunnel that doubles as a secret dungeon prison. I want to make the mansion at the end of the level a second half of the level that will effectively DOUBLE all this and more. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A fully playable sprint from beginning to end. Destroy all zombies then get the key and destroy the necromancer before the moon swallows you whole! Collect ghost flies to give yourself extra lives during the boss battle. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually raise the price as I add new content and features to the game. Early adopters get the game as is, and will get all new content for free! Those that get into the game later will need to buy it at the price I've determined to be fair for what the game is at that point.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Pour Boy Wiki and a soon to be announced Pour Boy Discord will be the place where people can talk about the game. You can always visit the Pour Boy Coffee shop in Savannah, GA and talk to me in person!! We will be making the game into an arcade cabinet in store. ”

About This Game

A hand-drawn coffee-horror platformer from a real Savannah coffee shop

Pour Boy and the Nitro Necromancer is a hand-drawn 2D action platformer set in the haunted coffee universe of Pour Boy Coffee.

Fight your way through a cursed graveyard, destroy coffee-born monsters, collect hidden flies, complete strange character quests, and earn the key to face the Nitro Necromancer.

But be careful.

The moon is getting closer.

If the timer runs out, the moon swallows you whole — and your run begins again from the start.

Fight monsters. Collect flies. Beat the moon.

Your goal is simple:

Destroy every Zombrew, Decaf Drone, and Bittergeist before the moon reaches the level.

If you clear the graveyard in time, the Grounds Keeper will reward you with a key to the boss.

Along the way, you’ll:

  • Fight hand-drawn coffee monsters

  • Collect hidden flies

  • Complete character quests

  • Find secrets

  • Explore a haunted graveyard

  • Survive the moon timer

  • Unlock the boss battle

  • Face the Nitro Necromancer

Death is not the end — unless the moon gets you

You have infinite lives, and your progress carries over between normal deaths.

Your health slowly regenerates, but two or three quick hits can still wipe you out. Play carefully, pick your moments, and don’t let the monsters overwhelm you.

If the moon swallows you, all progress is lost and the run begins again.

In the boss battle, there is no timer. Instead, your extra lives are based on how many flies you collected before entering the fight.

The more you explore, the better your chances.

Built by one coffee shop owner

This game was built and drawn by me, Keith — the same guy behind the Pour Boy coffee trailer, the Savannah coffee shop, and the Pour Boy graphic novel series.

There are years of character design, storybuilding, animation practice, coffee drinks, gothic horror influences, and weird little lore decisions behind this world.

Pour Boy and the Nitro Necromancer is the first playable step into that universe, with more quests, secrets, puzzles, polish, and strange coffee-horror madness planned after launch.

Thanks for giving it a shot.

And if you’re ever in Savannah, come get a shot of espresso from the cafe.

Early Access Note

This Early Access version is playable from start to finish.

You can complete the graveyard, fight enemies, collect flies, earn the key, face the boss, and beat the game. Future updates are planned to add more quests, zombies, secrets, puzzles, polish, and expanded content.
