Fight, idle, and keep growing.

BreakDespair 2D is an all-directional scrolling shooter set in space, built around mining, automatic upgrades, drones, weapons, and explosive number growth.

Mine ore, convert it into GOLD, and strengthen your fighter, battleship, weapons, drones, missiles, and support beams. You do not need to manage every upgrade manually. If you have GOLD, your fighter and battleship can upgrade automatically.

There are no game overs and no time limits.

This is a shooter about steadily becoming stronger, not about being punished for every mistake. You can actively move and fight for better efficiency, or rely on auto-fire and automatic upgrades when you want a more relaxed experience.

If things become dangerous, stopping movement can also become a defensive option. From Evolution Level 7 onward, your fighter becomes invincible while not moving, and your drones can continue collecting ore and supporting you.

Automatic Growth

Upgrade items grow automatically.

There are 20 weapon types, but you can progress without constantly changing them.

Upgrade ratios can be adjusted, but the default settings are enough to play.

Players who enjoy shooters can fight actively, while players who want a calmer experience can let auto-fire and auto-upgrades handle much of the progress.

Explosive Number Growth

At first, even small meteors are a challenge.

As you grow stronger, more turrets, drones, missiles, battleship beams, and weapons fill the screen with firepower.

AI Companions

The story is supported by Lumiere and Astraea, two AI android companions.

They are not tools, and they are not enemies. They think, fight, and travel together with you as allies.

In this story, AI itself is not the enemy. What threatens peace is the force that tries to take freedom, intelligence, and emotion away from living beings.

During your journey through space, you will meet AI, fairies, other civilizations, mechanical lifeforms, and even those who were once enemies.

Story

In a certain country on Earth, you lived with two adopted daughters and two AI androids.

However, the world changed drastically because of a certain force. AI was forbidden from having will or emotion, and people also found it harder to live freely.

Following Lumiere's proposal, you escape by warping away with your battleship. Your two adopted daughters hide in cryosleep, while you, Lumiere, and Astraea fly into unknown space.

After the warp, you arrive in an unknown region of space.

All you have is the damaged battleship Lumiere and one fighter, Astraea.

Your journey begins as you try to return to the Solar System and defeat a massive enemy.
