About This Game

You're the Mayor. You're also a vampire. 
Make sure no one finds out that last part.

NightMayor is a darkly satirical roguelite city-management game that lets you become a literal blood-sucking politician, managing civic duties alongside your own darker, vampiric interests. 

Every action has a consequence, so you’ll need to keep a close eye on multiple resources to make sure no one finds out that their mayor is a creature of the night. That would really ruin your chances of re-election.

MANAGE YOUR CITY, MANAGE YOUR HUNGER

In order to maintain the masquerade while keeping your city services running, you'll have to strike a careful balance between your ‘day job’ and your ‘night life’. 

Balance blood reserves with citizen happiness, build an empire of thralls and familiars, and do whatever it takes to keep your approval ratings high - murder, corruption, blood magic or even just simple politics.

BALANCE THE BOOKS & THE BLOOD RESERVES

Over the course of each run, you’ll have five core resources to manage:

• Blood Reserves

• Money

• Poll Ratings

• Suspicion

• Danger

Mismanaging any of these is the difference between re-election and a stake to the heart.

RECRUIT. DELEGATE. DENY EVERYTHING.

You can't run a city (or a covert vampire clan) alone. Recruit Familiars and create Thralls to act on your behalf. You’ll find the best candidates via a handy recruitment app called Stakes. Just swipe right on potential servants. 

Deploy your network wisely, as every action has a cost. Send a Familiar against a hunter threat and there's a chance they won't come back. Blood spent on vampiric operations is Blood unavailable for emergencies. Or Dinner.

Every run is a full mayoral term and a new chance to drain the city in every way possible. As a roguelite, each run surfaces new objectives, new Familiar types and new risks. No two terms play out quite the same way. No matter how hard you try.

HAND-DRAWN ART MEETS DESKTOP DESIGN

Like a lot of civic institutions, you’ll use a slightly outdated looking (but distinctly charming) desktop interface to make your decisions and manage every turn. 

Every character in NightMayor is represented by distinct, hand-drawn artwork - from the Mayor and his Familiars to the officials giving him the side-eye, each interaction brings the world to (eternal) life.

• Choices and consequences. Objectives appear throughout each run, carrying their own rewards and risks.

• Hand-drawn character art. A cast of characters, each with their own hand-drawn portrait art distinctly designed to show their personalities.

• Fake-OS interface. Manage your decisions and resources, through a lovingly rendered recreation of cutting edge civic technology.
