Reviews

“The basics are simple—build an army, defend your king, eliminate the enemy—but the variety of unique factions and fighters enables a tremendous range of offensive and defensive possibilities.”
PC Gamer

“One of the most popular mods for Warcraft 3 back in the day was Legion TD, a fantastic tower defence game that was second only to the all-powerful DOTA in terms of popularity. ... The popular Warcraft 3 mod Legion TD released around 2009 and inspired both StarCraft II’s Squadron TD and Dota 2’s Legion TD: Reborn – and also possibly autobattlers like Teamfight Tactics and DOTA Underlords.”

About This Game

Outlast your opponent

Waves of enemies attack you and your opponents. Build defenses to survive. Send mercenaries to smash through your opponents' defenses. Scale your economy to become a late game beast. Like Chess, every match is familiar enough to reward game knowledge, but divergent enough to require adaptation.

12 million fighter combinations

Each match, you receive a random roll of 6 fighters, from 12 million possible combinations. Every fighter has strengths & weaknesses. Some secure strategic advantages early game, while others have powerful late-game synergies. Your skill lies in your ability to make the most of the hand you're dealt.

Stable, balanced meta

With 9+ years worth of data-driven, monthly balance patches, Legion TD 2 is perhaps the most balanced competitive game in the world. Rather than introduce disruptive changes every year to shake things up, Legion TD 2 has opted to chase perfecting a healthy meta. If you take a break for a couple years and come back, your same openings will probably still be viable.

  • Weekly challenges. A puzzle-like competition to find the best build with a set lineup.

*Note: single-player features require an online connection due to technical limitations of the game engine.

History

Legion TD 2 is the sequel to the 2nd most popular Warcraft 3 mod of all time, Legion TD. Also known as Squadron TD in Starcraft 2. The top 5 most played Warcraft 3 mods are DotA, Legion TD, Wintermaul, Footmen Frenzy, and Life of a Peasant. Legion TD is proud to hold the silver medal.

Legion TD 2 launched in early access in 2017, and has received major updates, quality of life, and balance changes every single month since then. After fully launching in October 2021, we believe it has grown to become the most replayable, balanced, competitive strategy experience out there. Unlike other indie multiplayer games, Legion TD 2's playerbase has stood the test of time, having been active & steady for nearly 10 years and counting.
