Huge Update: Demo 2.0!

We listened to your feedback and we're proud to announce a HUGE UPDATE to our demo!

This update not only adds a new area and brand new gameplay mechanics, but also comprehensively upgrades performance, combat, stealth, controls, game tutorials, and UI.

Demo 2.0 New Features:

• Comprehensive performance optimization

  • System-level improvements boost frame rates, specifically addressing stuttering and frame drops in combat scenes for smoother overall gameplay. 

• Brand new puzzle map

  • Discover a new secret area that showcases a preview of future puzzle mechanics.

• Completely reworked stealth system with new ability: Backstab!

  • With the new backstab ability, we completely reworked the dungeon stealth rooms to combine Zeek's digging ability with stealth to create a brand new way to play stealth.

• Completely reworked Auto Aim system

  • Set it and forget it auto aiming! R2 (X on keyboard) toggles auto aim mode. When attacking, nearby enemies are automatically locked onto, and ranged attacks feature homing, making aiming and hitting easier and more precise.

• Numerous balance adjustments

  • Enemy attributes have been thoroughly rebalanced, while Zhong Kui’s abilities have been significantly strengthened, refining the pacing and challenge of combat.

• Significantly updated controls

  • The input window for combos has been widened, and Fury mode now allow instant interruption during an ongoing attack, resulting in snappier, smoother responsiveness.

• Massively improved guides as well as vocal hints to various mechanics

• Redesigned settings UI interface

  • The layout and interaction logic have been completely overhauled, making navigation clearer and settings management more efficient and convenient.

• Massive bug fixes

  • Resolved various issues reported in the demo version, including logic errors, UI glitches, and failed triggers, enhancing overall stability.

This is a work-in-progress beta build of Flame Hunter: Zhong Kui. This means you may encounter bugs, crashes, missing features, or balance issues. We’re being upfront about that because we want you to be part of making the game better.

About This Demo

Enter a stunning supernatural world inspired by ancient Chinese myth.

Become Zhong Kui, an unlikely warrior on a quest for redemption. In this fast-paced action RPG, you'll fight, capture, and transform your way through a magical universe that blends heart with fluid hack-and-slash combat.

Hack and Slash

Combat is fast, ferocious, and empowering. Battle dozens of unique demons across four distinct realms. The human world, the dragon realm, the spirit realm, and the Underworld.
