What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Encore is still very early in its development. We are in the process of coming up with new ideas to make Encore a better game, from feedback about the currently created rhythm game mechanics, to our ideas and future implementations of a career mode. Having a larger audience that can easily access the game through Steam will allow us to get the feedback we need to keep development going, and to see if our ideas and their implementations are a good fit for a rhythm game of this genre.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Encore will (potentially) be in early access for the next two years, although this estimate can increase (or decrease!) at any time. We're hobbyists, after all.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will potentially have a career that takes a different path from the typical career of the genre. Other than that, most things would be the same.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Encore currently has working multiplayer, (guitar) controller support, and controller/kbm navigate-able menus. The main gameplay (loading and playing songs) requires more polish, but is close to our final interpretations of how the rhythm game portion of the game should be. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“This game will always be free. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community can report any issues to our GitHub, talk with developers, contribute ideas, and even contribute themselves!”

About This Game

The band's back together again. And again. And again. And again.

Encore is a plastic band rhythm game taking inspiration from all sorts of rhythm games that aims to be more easily accessible than other games. You plug in your controller, you load up your songs, and you play the charts.

Encore supports a wide variety of controllers and playstyles. Hook up your 5-fret guitar, your e-kit, your controller, or your keyboard and get to hitting notes!

You'll have to find and download your own songs. We support the well-known Clone Hero song format so you can easily import your old library.
