About This Game

First, feed yourself. Then a whole settlement.

Calmaria: Wild Growth is an island survival crafting game about building a settlement, automating its work, and heading out for new resources. Play on your own or with friends in online co-op.

At first, you gather the wood, carry the water, and sow the wheat yourself. That first loaf of bread takes some work. Later, settlers help with the harvest and regular deliveries keep your workshops supplied, leaving you free to plan another building or get ready for an expedition. Just remember to prepare your defenses. The archipelago's creatures can make a meal of your crops and damage your buildings.

Build more than a few huts

Set up a mill and bakery to turn your harvest into food. Add workshops, mines, and forges, raise animals, keep beehives, and make room to store the materials coming in. Connect your buildings through production chains that supply your next construction project or a better set of equipment.

Take a look at the ground before planting another field. Trees help improve soil fertility, wells affect moisture, and industrial pollution can hurt your harvest. Sometimes moving a workshop makes more sense than planting another struggling field.

Bring in settlers and share the work

As your settlement grows, welcome new people to the island. Take in castaways, meet people on your travels, and rescue those trapped in dungeons. Assign settlers to sow crops, gather harvests, and carry water and materials. They can help defend the settlement, too.

Keep them fed, give them water, and make sure they have time to rest. Before laying out another farm, check that you can feed the people who will work there.

Stop carrying every load yourself

A growing settlement needs steady supplies. Expand your storage and transport, then arrange automated resource deliveries from other islands. Your boat will take you out exploring, but you won't have to ferry every load home yourself.

New technologies let you bring electricity to your buildings, build diamond-powered generators, and put drones to work on repetitive tasks. Automation takes some of the daily chores off your hands. Keeping everything supplied, powered, and protected is still your job.

Find out what's beyond the next shore

Build a dock, pack supplies, and set sail. Explore a procedurally generated archipelago, search new islands for the resources you need, and venture into dungeons for more valuable loot. Bosses await underground, so bring equipment you can rely on.

Not everyone you meet wants a fight. Trade with merchants, sell your goods, and take on tasks for the archipelago's inhabitants. Bring the materials, rewards, and equipment you find back to your settlement and put them to use.

Be ready for the next wave

There is time to tend your fields and build between expeditions, but your island isn't entirely safe. Waves of creatures attack crops, fences, and buildings. Place defensive towers, keep ammunition stocked, repair damage, and join the fight when enemies arrive.

Watch your own health, hunger, and thirst as well. Food and water matter during a day's work just as much as on a longer expedition. A well-supplied settlement gives you a place to recover and something worth protecting.

Improve your character and equipment

Earn experience and plan your next unlocks in the technology tree, from new buildings and recipes to useful upgrades. Make equipment at the forge and find more gear through combat and exploration, with different rarities and randomly rolled bonuses.

Compare your finds, upgrade your equipment, and choose what to bring for the task ahead. Better tools make the work easier. A good weapon and armor can help you make it back from the next dungeon.

Bring your friends along

Build your own world in single-player or invite your Steam friends to online co-op. Share the work around the settlement, head out for resources together, and get your defenses ready for the next wave.
