What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“B.L.U.E. is a highly systems-driven multiplayer space engineering sandbox focused on physics-based ship construction, combat, heat management, and emergent player creativity. Early Access allows us to develop these interconnected systems alongside the community while continuously improving gameplay balance, stability, performance, and quality-of-life features.

During Early Access, we plan to expand the shipbuilding system, add new components and gameplay mechanics, improve multiplayer infrastructure, refine combat balance, and introduce additional progression and sandbox features based on player feedback.

Because player-created ships and multiplayer interactions are at the core of the experience, community feedback is especially valuable in helping us identify balance issues, usability problems, and new gameplay opportunities. We plan to actively support and expand the game throughout Early Access while working toward a more complete and polished experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect B.L.U.E. to remain in Early Access for roughly 1–2 years, though this timeline may change depending on development progress and community feedback.

We want to ensure that the core building systems, multiplayer experience, combat mechanics, and overall content reach a stable and polished state before leaving Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand B.L.U.E. significantly beyond its Early Access foundation, building on the core shipbuilding and multiplayer combat experience with deeper customization, more systems, and greater strategic variety.

As development progresses, we plan to add:
* More modular ship components, weapons, propulsion systems, defenses, and support systems
* Expanded ship customization and more ways to specialize your designs
* New modules and evolving technologies that can change how your ship performs in combat
* An expanded Anomaly system with dynamic objectives, rewards, and opportunities during battles
* Additional game modes and combat scenarios
* More maps and playable arenas
* Expanded multiplayer features, including matchmaking and custom games, and possibly dedicated servers
* Greater variety in ship types and fleet compositions
* More progression and opportunities to experiment with different builds and strategies
* Mod support and user-generated content
* Continued improvements to physics, combat, performance, balance, and overall usability

Our goal is to develop B.L.U.E. into a deeper and more expansive multiplayer shipbuilding sandbox where players can continuously experiment with new designs, discover new strategies, and adapt their ships to different combat situations.

The exact scope and order of future additions may change throughout Early Access as we evaluate development priorities and incorporate feedback from the community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version already includes the core gameplay experience of designing, building, and piloting custom spaceships in multiplayer combat environments.

Current features include:
* Physics-based spaceship construction
* Functional ship systems and modular components
* Real-time multiplayer PvP gameplay
* Heat and energy management mechanics
* Ship combat with customizable weapon loadouts
* Sandbox-style engineering and experimentation
* Multiple playable ship designs and combat scenarios

Players can already build functional ships, test engineering concepts, fight against other players, and experiment with different strategies and designs.

During Early Access, we plan to continue expanding the game's content, improving stability and performance, refining the user experience, adding more components and gameplay systems, and evolving the multiplayer sandbox based on community feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer B.L.U.E. at a lower price during Early Access. As we add new content, features, and systems and approach the full release, we plan to increase the price to reflect the expanded scope of the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is a major part of B.L.U.E.’s development process. We plan to actively gather feedback from players through Steam Discussions, the B.L.U.E. community server, the B.L.U.E. subreddit, gameplay testing, bug reports, and direct player suggestions.

Because the game focuses heavily on player creativity, ship engineering, and multiplayer interaction, community feedback can help us improve balance, usability, feature priorities, and the long-term direction of the game.

Players can help shape future updates by:
* Reporting bugs and gameplay issues
* Suggesting new ship components, mechanics, and features
* Providing feedback on combat and progression balance
* Sharing ship designs and gameplay strategies
* Participating in testing for experimental features and updates

We intend to maintain open communication with the community throughout Early Access and regularly share development progress, development updates, and upcoming changes through the BlueHeaven Games YouTube channel.”

About This Game

What is B.L.U.E.?

B.L.U.E. is a space combat and ship-building game built on real-world physics and aerospace engineering principles. Created by and for engineers and sci-fi enthusiasts, B.L.U.E. lets you build, launch, upgrade, and evolve alongside your friends as you design powerful spacecraft, face reality-bending anomalies, and battle in explosive, physics-driven combat.

Drawing inspiration from roguelikes, MOBAs, hero shooters, and buildcrafting games, B.L.U.E. combines in-depth ship customization with objective-based combat and evolving in-match builds. Every component you add can change how your ship flies, fights, and functions, while objectives and rewards give you opportunities to upgrade and evolve your build as the battle progresses.

>>> BUILD <<<

Create a near infinite range of starship designs within a complex, modular ship-building system. Manage power and heat, stockpile drones and ordnance, and mount powerful weapons to build a ship that fits your play style.

>>> LAUNCH <<<

Enter epic arenas carved into grand cosmic architectures. Test your ship designs in the fire of combat by eliminating other interlopers, completing anomaly objectives, and adapting your build on the fly as the battlefield evolves and the tides of combat shift. Only the ingenious will survive.

>>> UPGRADE <<<

Iterate and refine your ship designs as the battlefield unravels. Unlock new parts, install advanced modules, and enhance your ship's systems as you converge upon increasingly optimized designs.

>>> EVOLVE <<<

Uncover advanced technologies within the remnants of anomalies and battlefield debris. Transform your ship parts, augment your play style with new abilities, and push your designs beyond their limits, unlocking entirely new combat capabilities.
