Why Early Access?

“We are currently in the Alpha 2 version of Makehuman 2. However the program is very much polished and mostly ready to be used by the community. That said we intend to continue to bug fix, problem solve, content add, and develop further upon this solid base. Our goal is to finish alpha 2 release with feedback from the community.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“1 year. We are a team of two and expect that the Alpha phase should take aprox one year. However it could take us longer to finalize Makehuman 2 Beta Release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to make it more polished. We will have squished most of the existing and discovered bugs. There will likely be more content, and possibly another feature or two-along with the potential for plugin capability for others to add own customization to it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Polished Alpha 2 release for windows. The state is Usable but still under development. The features available are character creation, attachment of hair, clothes and other parts, with exporting of character model via gltf/object & makehuman format.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“no, this is open source free to use going forward. that said we may add some packages bi yearly in future for patron packs.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Bug finding, suggestions, feedback, asset contribution, and possibly more! We need our community now more than ever to help us move towards a solid beta release. We are open already on github for bugs!”
