What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Second Monitor Football already delivers its core experience: pick a match, press play, and watch physics-driven football unfold on your second screen. You can follow leagues, cups, and competitions from start to finish with zero required input.

However, there’s still plenty of room to grow. We plan to expand competitions, improve match variety, refine physics behavior, and add more customization options—especially through modding.

Early Access allows us to gather player feedback to fine-tune match pacing, randomness, and overall balance while improving the viewing experience. The foundation is solid, but polishing, iteration, and community input will help shape the final version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

Game development takes time, especially when refining a system built around physics and unpredictability. Our current plan is to remain in Early Access roughly 8 weeks, but the exact duration will depend on player feedback and how the experience evolves.

If the community suggests valuable improvements whether it’s match feel, competition structure, or modding capabilities we want to take the time to implement and polish them properly before full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The goal for Second Monitor Football is to deliver a complete and polished second-screen football experience. The full release is planned to expand on the core gameplay with more content, improved physics behavior, and additional viewing features to make matches feel more dynamic and varied.

During Early Access, the focus is on the core experience—watching matches, following leagues, and basic competitions. Some content, such as continental and domestic cups, will not be available at this stage.

For the full version, we plan to introduce these missing competitions, expand the overall structure of tournaments, and improve progression across seasons. We also aim to refine match pacing, randomness, and visual clarity to create a more satisfying and consistent viewing experience.

Modding will continue to be a major focus, with improvements to customization tools, making it easier to create and share leagues, teams, and logos.

Overall, the full release is intended to feel more complete, more varied, and more polished, while staying true to the game’s core idea: press play and enjoy football on your second monitor.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Second Monitor Football includes the complete core experience. Players can select matches, press play, and watch physics-based games unfold with no direct control.

Core competitions such as leagues and international cups are fully playable, allowing you to pick a team and follow matches throughout a season or drop in to watch specific games.

Modding support is already available, enabling players to create custom leagues, edit team names, and add their own logos to shape a personalized football world.

Some features, such as domestic and continental cups, are not yet included and are planned for future updates during Early Access. The focus right now is on delivering a stable, enjoyable viewing experience and refining the core gameplay through player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Pricing has not been finalized yet. During Early Access, the price may change as new features, content, and improvements are added to the game.

The goal is to offer fair value at every stage of development. As the game grows with additional competitions, improved physics, and expanded modding capabilities, pricing will reflect the overall scope and quality of the experience. In current cycle of development we don't have any plans for changing the price of the game. More details will be shared as development progresses.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to involve the community closely throughout development. Player feedback will play a major role in shaping match behavior, randomness, and future features.

I’ll actively listen to suggestions, bug reports, and ideas shared by players, especially around physics tuning, competition structure, and modding improvements. Since the game is heavily driven by simulation, community input is essential to making matches feel both fun and satisfying to watch.

Feedback from gameplay experience and community discussions will directly influence updates during Early Access and beyond, helping shape Second Monitor Football into a more polished and enjoyable second-screen experience.”

About This Game

Second Monitor Football is a lightweight, physics-driven football simulation designed to live on your second screen. Whether you're working, browsing, or playing something else, you can sit back and watch matches unfold with zero required input perfect for low attention gameplay. Or lean in, take control, and join your team on the pitch.

Built around simplicity and unpredictability, the game lets physics take the spotlight. Players move, collide, and interact with the ball in dynamic ways, creating chaotic, often hilarious moments. Goals aren't scripted they happen when the ball finds its way into the net through pure motion, momentum, and a bit of luck.

Play your way. Watch hands free as the match plays itself out, or jump in and join the action: steer a player in the team and unleash power-ups freeze the opposition, knock out their keeper, shield your own goal to swing the game in your team's favour. Power-ups are earned through play, and the AI coaches will fire theirs right back at you.

Play together. Team up with friends in multiplayer: join forces with up to 4 players on the same side through full competitions, or drop into casual matches with up to 8 players, 4 per team for an end to end showdown.

Stream it. Twitch streamers can invite their viewers straight into competitions and casual matches, turning a quiet second-screen sim into a shared, chaotic spectacle.

Progress comes from the teams you follow and the competitions you choose to engage with. Whether you're committing to a full season or casually checking in on key matches, Second Monitor Football adapts to your pace. A core part of the experience is freedom. With built-in modding support, you can shape the game however you like custom leagues, custom teams, and your own football world.
