What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“ Early Access puts the core gameplay loop — plate placement, combo chains, and grid control — directly in players' hands. The foundation is built and playable; now we need your feedback shaping House balance, tuning, and quality-of-life features rather than developing in isolation. The community's input during this phase will directly influence how GridHammer evolves toward 1.0.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“ We're targeting 3–6 months, with a full release goal of late 2027. The exact timeline depends on the scope of community feedback and how quickly we can iterate on balance and content additions. We'd rather ship 1.0 when it's right than rush past what players are telling us.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand GridHammer throughout Early Access with ranked multiplayer and matchmaking refinements, new game modes, and additional competitive features. UI and UX improvements will be driven directly by player feedback. We plan to add multi-language localization for all interface text (the game has no voice acting), Steam Deck optimization, and deeper Steam integration including achievements, friend invites, cloud saves, and rich presence. Balance tuning will be an ongoing process informed by community play data.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version launches with the full core gameplay loop.

Five Houses — each with distinct stat identities and combo chain rivalries — clash on a 6×6 grid.

Both players draw from a shared cache of 45 plates across two waves of combat.

Three AI difficulty levels are available for single-player, and a hands-on tutorial teaches placement, captures, and combo chains as you play.

Online multiplayer is planned for Early Access and will be refined throughout the process.

Full controller and keyboard/mouse support are included at launch.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“● GridHammer will be available for $4.99 during Early Access. We plan to increase the price to $9.99 at the 1.0 launch once online multiplayer and cosmetic customizations are finalized in place.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“ Player feedback is at the center of how GridHammer evolves. We'll be actively reading and responding to Steam discussions, reviews, and community channels to identify balance issues, quality-of-life improvements, and feature priorities. House balance and combo chain tuning will be informed by how players actually engage with the game rather than internal assumptions. We plan to share development updates regularly so players can see how their input shapes each update.”

About This Game

About This Game

Gridhammer is a tactical plate battler where every placement matters. Draft plates from a shared pool, read the

board, and outmaneuver your opponent — one plate at a time.

The Grid Awaits

Place plates on a shared grid. Each plate carries four corner values — when yours lands next to an opponent's, the

higher side claims it. Captures cascade across the board. One placement can flip the entire match.

Five Houses, One Forge

Forty-five plates. Five houses. One shared pool. Every plate you draft is one your opponent doesn't get. Each

house has a unique power shape — Embercrest strikes from above, Stoneheart anchors from below, Runeweaver

dominates the columns, Stillforge holds even on every side, and Shadowmine plays a different pattern every tier.

No Luck. All Skill.

No loot boxes, no random pulls, no pay-to-win. Both players draft from the same pool of plates. The difference

isn't what you have — it's where you put it. A low-tier plate in the right position beats a high-tier plate in the

wrong one.

Key Features

- Shared Draft Pool — Every pick matters twice: strengthen your hand and deny your opponent

- Combo Chains — Captures cascade across the board, flipping multiple plates in a single turn

- Online PvP — Cross-platform matchmaking against real opponents

- AI Battles — Practice against AI at multiple difficulty levels to sharpen your game

Early Access

Gridhammer is in active development. During Early Access, expect balance updates, new game modes, ranked

competitive play, and cosmetic progression — custom cache skins, plate borders, grid themes, and more. Your

feedback shapes the forge.
