About This Game

Cosmic entities have summoned creatures that cause harm to innocents, but the universe requires balance. So those who would fight those creatures were also summoned.  Those who fight do not know where they are, only that it takes place somewhere else from where they came from.  Over time this war became known as the Elsewar.

The Elsewar is a fantasy roguelike deck builder about creating powerful synergies and mitigating the attrition of fighting Creatures with your Army of varied Units.

Every War starts with a basic Army of 52 Units, success in battle yields varied amounts of Essence which you can use in the Recruitment Tent to improve your Army.

Combine attacking Formations of Units with unique Fates in order to create builds with varied synergies to defeat harmful Creatures. Generate enough damage to overcome your foes while discovering new combinations as you progress. Not every War ends in victory, so use your wits and take care of your Units, and good luck.

Being a small 2 person team in a startup studio working on this project while juggling other responsibilities; we used AI to generate artwork. We strived to use a generic fantasy theme based on Cubism as an art style so we wouldnt be ripping a specific artist's work.
