What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core farming and colony-management systems are in place. We want player feedback to help us balance progression and resource management, refine settlement maps, and identify bugs before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are currently aiming for approximately one month in Early Access. This is an estimate, and the timing may change depending on player feedback and the work needed.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to offer more refined gameplay balance and settlement maps, along with fixes for issues identified during Early Access. Our focus is on improving the existing farming and colony-management experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes a single-player campaign spanning 18 settlements across three worlds. Players can grow and harvest crops, manage food storage, recruit specialist workers, trade resources, and purchase settlement and permanent Spacehome upgrades. The game is still in development: balance, maps, and bugs are the main areas we intend to refine during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently have no plans to change the price when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can share balancing feedback, bug reports, and map issues through the Steam community discussions or the support contact listed on this page. We plan to use this feedback to help prioritize balancing changes, bug fixes, and map refinements.”

About This Game

Frontier Initiative is an idle colony management game with a noir heart. The settlers are already out there working. Your job is to make sure they survive.

Watch the colony breathe.
Farmers wake at dawn, walk to their fields, harvest when the crops are ready, and carry food to the granary or market without being told. The settlement runs on its own — you're just there to make sure it doesn't fall apart.

Step in when it matters.
Boost a crop that's growing too slow. Drag surplus food to the market before the granary overflows. Spend gold on upgrades that push the colony further than it could go on its own. You don't manage every moment — but the moments you do manage count.

A quiet kind of dread.
The clock never stops. Day bleeds into night, night fast-forwards into another morning that needs a plan. If the food runs out, someone dies. The undertaker doesn't wait, and the granary doesn't forgive mistakes.

Noir at the edge of the galaxy.
The man behind this story never wanted to be here. He answered the call anyway. Between planets, a four-panel story plays out in muted tones — reluctant heroism, frontier politics, and a settler-to-settler network that runs on trust and not much else.

Upgrades that cross the stars.
Invest in your Spacehome and those improvements travel with you to every planet. Better market prices, faster farmers, a bigger granary. Every colony you pull back from the edge pays forward to the next one.
