About This Game

SYNTHERION is a top-down vertical shooter where every weapon is a synth, every loadout is a track, and every run is a roguelike climb through neon worlds. Solo or 1–4 player co-op over Steam.

Pick your ship, get out there, and turn a noisy cosmos into music.

EVERY WEAPON IS A SYNTH

Each weapon, shield, and power core in your loadout is bound to a synthwave or darksynth audio loop. Equip them and they layer together like channels on a mixer — bass, percussion, lead, pad.

Toggle weapons on and off with the number keys mixing your own track mid-fight.

A dense loadout sounds enormous and drains your power budget. A sparse one survives longer but plays quieter. The build IS the song.

BRANCHING CO-OP

Divide and conquer by taking portals to parallel runs to maximize points. If your friend is in trouble, engage your hyperdrive and make an awesome musical entrance back onto their screen, then finish out the fight with a mutual jam session.

Each parallel verse is a themed stretch of space with its own aesthetic, enemy roster, and musical palette.

•   Neon Void — the grid. Inhabited by dangerous geometric entities.

•   Bioluminescent Reef — glowing biological swarms drifting in the deep.

•   Ancient Megastructure — unknown origin, now seized by a greedy corporation.

•   Many more on the way.

A FLEET TO COLLECT

Choose from a growing roster of ships, each a different feel: nimble strikers, heavy bruisers, and stranger experiments. Every ship comes with its own unique field emitter-- a special device with status effects and music to compliment your preferred style.

Dock with friendly NPC capital ships and entities to gain unique weapon and ship upgrades
