About This Game

The Hero's Journey

In a futuristic Seattle, the CorpoState has built a sustainable society, regulating every citizen's perception through a mandatory contact lens to maintain a flawless digital utopia. Magic, a weary editor for the Goodwill Gazette living in Tower D#503, spends his days polishing a historical tale that he has come to realize is a hollow lie.

Driven by a lifelong curiosity and seeking answers beyond his walls, he chooses to install an unauthorized override sent from Morro, a defiant coder on the run from the State. This illicit file allows him to finally see the system, granting him the power to toggle his lens and traverse the dangerous gaps between the two worlds as he descends to the streets below.

Gameplay & Mechanics

The perception through the WRITE.EYE (Magic’s right eye) is of a pristine, utopian city free from chaos. Though hidden under the overlay (Magic’s left eye), Seattle is slowly crumbling.

The Player uses Magic’s faulty implant to view the two different worlds and avoid obstacles. Advancement is tied to 10 narrative escape rooms that build upon the story, with levels growing larger as you descend to portray a growing sense of freedom.

  • Left-Mouse-Click: close your left eye to see the crumbling city.

  • Right-Mouse-Click: close your right eye to view the pristine overlay.

  • The Task: Find Morro by escaping each floor while logging hidden datapads for lore.

The Descent

The Player starts in a contained small space, though as they progress the levels get larger and more welcoming, portraying a sense of freedom. Each scene is a different room that must be unlocked to proceed to the next floor down.
