Leaving Early Access: 2027

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Dreadholm is playable and has real content, but it's not done. Early Access lets players get in now, and have a say in what gets built next. The game is better when it's shaped by the people actually playing it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is to continue to add content and systems until the game feels complete. More zones, more dungeons, more classes, more endgame. A year or so depending on how things go.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add:
- Additional zones and dungeons beyond the current content
- More enemy types and boss encounters with unique mechanics
- Expanded quest lines and story progression
- PvP systems
- Guild and social features
- More class abilities and build options
- Crafting and gathering profession expansion
- QoL improvements based on player feedback

The core gameplay is already working. Early Access is about expanding on that foundation.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable. You create a character, pick your class, explore the overworld, complete quests, fight enemies, collect loot, train your non-combat skills, run instanced dungeons with or without your friends, trade on the auction house, and party with players. There are four classes currently, each with their own abilities and progression. Content is actively being added.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game price will be increased as we progress through early access, though only closer to our release date in 2027.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through Discord primarily. Bug reports, feature requests, and balance feedback from players go directly into what gets prioritized. The game is built by one person, so there's no filter between player feedback and development decisions. If something's broken or something's needed, it gets addressed.”

About This Game

DREADHOLM is an isometric online RPG set in a dark fantasy world where a curse has been released upon the area. The village of Ashvale is surrounded. Creatures crawl from out of the wilds, the dead are rising, and the plague known as the Withering continues to spread. You arrive with nothing but your weapon, into a world that will not wait for you to be ready.

FEATURES

Online by design - A living world with other players.
Four classes, clear roles - Warrior, Mage, Ranger, and Priest. Bring the correct tools, or get punished.
Loot that rolls different every time - Equipment with randomized prefixes and suffixes. Compared, trade, chase upgrades.
Player economy - Sell what you don't need at the auction house.
Instanced dungeons - Scaled difficulty, telegraphed boss fights, a real reason to party.
World bosses - Scheduled threats that demand a crowd and coordination.
Guilds and territory - Form a guild, claim a plot inside the living world, and make it your home (expanding through Early Access)
Gathering and progression - Skills, crafts, and long term character growth beyond a single dungeon clear and mob farming.
Built from scratch - Custom client and server, built by one developer.

CLASSES

Warrior - Melee brawler. Builds rage with every hit and spends it on brutal abilities. Tough enough to stand in the middle of a fight and keep swinging.

Mage - Ranged caster. High damage, low forgiveness. Manage your mana and you'll clear rooms. Mismanage it and you'll be walking back from spawn.

Ranger - Mobile ranged DPS. Fast attacks, high crit chance, built to kiting. If something can't reach you, it can't hurt you.

Priest - Holy support. Heals, buffs, and keeps the party of their feet. Dungeons are a lot harder without one.

LOOT

Equipment drops with randomized affixes... Prefixes and suffixes that roll different stats every time. Your longsword more than likely will not have the same stats as the next one that drops. Compare gear, weigh tradeoffs, and chase your upgrades. Trade what you don't need on the auction house to other players.

Dungeons & World Threats

Instanced dungeons with scaled difficulty and boss encounters built around telegraphs, positioning, and coordination. Bring a party.

Out in the world, world bosses rise on a schedule. They're not trash with a bigger health bar, they're events. Show up, lock in, and earn the kill.

EARLY ACCESS

DREADHOLM is in active development with weekly updates. Built from the ground up with a proprietary client written in Rust and a server written in Golang, by a solo developer. Feedback is read, and what you play now is real, online, and growing.

The world will keep expanding, more content, more systems, more places to fight for.

NO CASH SHOP, NO PAID ADVANTAGES... EVER!
