What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re releasing Odixel Studio in Early Access to gather real feedback from artists and developers. The goal is to refine the workflow, improve usability, and prioritize features based on actual user needs.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We expect Odixel Studio to remain in Early Access for approximately 6–12 months, depending on development progress and community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan to refine the Pixel Canvas, animation, Board and Asset Library workflows, improve performance and usability, and address issues reported by the community. UI Maker, Tilemap Maker, Music Maker and Scene are planned as separate DLC releases over time, rather than features included in the current base purchase. Plans and release timing may change during development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes Pixel Canvas for pixel art, layers, palettes and drawing tools; frame-by-frame animation with tags and timing controls; Board for visual references; and Asset Library for organizing assets. These are the tools included in the base product. UI Maker, Tilemap Maker, Music Maker and Scene are locked and are planned as separate future DLC. Brief UI Maker scenes in the overview trailer preview those future tools; UI Maker is not included in the current base product. The software is still in development, and bugs and workflow changes should be expected.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may adjust the price as development progresses and more features are added. Early Access offers a chance to support the project at its current stage while helping shape its direction.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively involve the community through feedback, bug reports, and feature requests. Players can join our Discord to share ideas, report issues, and help guide the development of Odixel Studio.”

About This Software

Odixel Studio is a pixel art and animation tool built for indie developers and artists.

Create, edit, and animate across multiple canvases in a single environment. Use drawing tools, flexible layers, and an animation system with control over frames, tags, and timing. Manage colors with custom palettes and automatic shade generation.

Keep visual references close with Board, and organize your assets in Asset Library. Pixel Canvas, animation, Board and Asset Library are included in the Early Access base product.

UI Maker, Tilemap Maker, Music Maker and Scene are currently locked and are planned as separate future DLC. The brief UI Maker scenes in the overview trailer preview future tools; UI Maker is not included in the current base product.
