What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Rejected Draft is already fully playable, with roughly 500 hours of polished progression. Early Access will give us time to refine very late-game balance, improve translations, and complete Steam achievement support. Steam initially limits new games to 100 achievements until they qualify for expanded Profile Features; because Rejected Draft has more than 100 achievements and achievements are core to its progression, the remaining achievements will be added once that limit is lifted. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Rejected Draft to remain in Early Access for approximately 2–3 months, depending on player feedback and the amount of additional balancing and polish required.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to include further refinement of very late-game balance, completed and improved translations, additional bug fixes, and general UI and quality-of-life polish based on community feedback.

The core gameplay systems and the substantial majority of the game’s content will already be available at the beginning of Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable from the beginning through the current endgame and contains more than 500 hours of progression and content.

All core systems are functional, although some very late-game balancing, translations, and general polish are still being refined.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not currently plan to change the price when Rejected Draft leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Rejected Draft already has an active Discord community of more than 6,000 members who regularly provide feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and balancing ideas.

We are also working closely with a dedicated group of closed-beta testers to verify new mechanics and progression systems. Throughout Early Access, we plan to continue gathering feedback through Discord and the Steam Community Hub and use it to guide balancing, bug fixes, accessibility improvements, and general polish.”

About This Game

YOU DIDN'T MAKE THE CUT

Your creator took one look at you and threw you in the wastebasket.

So you climb back out.

Now there is an entire Gallery between you and the artist who decided you were not worth keeping. Rough sketches, finished pieces, historical portraits, and masterpieces far stronger than the little doodle that just crawled out of the trash.

If you want revenge, you are going to have to earn it.

Rejected Draft is a long-form incremental autobattler about starting with almost nothing and slowly turning yourself into something ridiculous. It begins simply, then keeps adding new mechanics, choices, interactions, and layers for months.

SIMPLE TO START. HARD TO MASTER.

Rejected Draft is designed to be easy to pick up. You fight sketches, get stronger, choose upgrades, and push farther. That is enough to get started.

Then more begins to appear.

New stats interact with old ones. New currencies change what matters. New upgrades reshape previous systems. Prestige layers alter the value of things you thought you already understood. Old mechanics eventually become pieces of much larger ones.

The complexity grows gradually, so you are never expected to understand everything at once. You learn systems as they arrive, use them for a while, then eventually discover that they connect to something much bigger.

YOU WILL NOT FINISH THIS GAME IN A WEEK

Rejected Draft is built as a months-long progression journey, not a short incremental game stretched out behind larger numbers.

There are hundreds of hours of content, with new mechanics, resources, systems, and prestige layers continuing to appear far beyond the early game. Things that once looked impossibly expensive eventually become routine. Problems that once stopped your progress disappear, only to be replaced by completely different ones.

Even after hundreds of hours, there will still be interactions you overlooked, builds you never tried, optimizations you could make, and systems you understand better than you did a hundred hours earlier.

THE NUMBERS ARE THE POINT

Rejected Draft eventually gets mathematically ridiculous.

You will deal with more than 60 battle stats, enormous skill trees, multiple currencies, enemy abilities, prestige mechanics, multiplicative bonuses, automation, and systems stacked on top of systems.

But the appeal is not simply watching numbers increase. It is understanding why they increase.

Maybe two stats interact far better than you expected. Maybe one upgrade completely changes the value of another part of your build. Maybe an enemy ability you ignored for hours suddenly becomes exactly what you need. Maybe a wall that looked impossible disappears because you finally found the right combination.

A lot of the best progress in Rejected Draft comes from understanding something you did not understand before.

Sometimes the answer is waiting. Sometimes the answer is redrawing. Sometimes the answer is realizing you have been doing something inefficient for the last six hours.

There is almost always something else to figure out.

YOUR ENEMIES BECOME PART OF YOUR BUILD

The sketches in the Gallery are not just obstacles. They help shape what you become.

Different enemies bring different stats, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses into your world. As you defeat them and progress, those traits become part of the increasingly large web of systems that defines your build.

That means progression is not simply about finding one correct path and following it forever. The sketches you encounter matter. The systems you invest in matter. Something that looks unimportant now may become central to your progression much later.

Your world creates your build, and your build changes how you solve the world.

PRESTIGE CHANGES THE PROBLEM

Eventually, brute force stops being enough.

You push as far as you can, prestige, sacrifice progress for new resources and permanent power, then begin climbing again with more tools than you had before.

But Rejected Draft does not just ask you to repeat the same loop with larger numbers. New layers change how you think about the old ones. Previous bottlenecks disappear. Stats you barely cared about become important. Systems that once demanded your full attention eventually become automated background machinery.

Each layer gives you something new to solve while changing the way you look at everything beneath it.

AN ENORMOUS CHALLENGE THAT RESPECTS YOUR TIME

Rejected Draft is designed to give you a huge progression challenge without expecting you to spend your entire day staring at it.

Play actively when there is a build to rethink, a wall to solve, or a new system to explore. When there is not, let idle progress and automation do their job.

As you advance, more of the game learns to run itself. Mechanics that once required constant attention gradually become background systems while you focus on whatever new problem has appeared.

Check in for ten minutes. Leave it running while you work. Come back later with a pile of resources. Or spend an evening tearing apart your build because you noticed one multiplier you have been neglecting.

The game is enormous. Your time commitment does not have to be.

Rejected Draft can be a second-monitor game when you want it to be, and a deep optimization game when you feel like digging in.

A GALLERY BUILT BY A COMMUNITY

Every sketch in Rejected Draft comes from a real person.

The Gallery has grown into a huge collection of community-created artwork, with different artists bringing their own styles, ideas, and interpretations into the game.

Some sketches are polished. Some are rough. Some are cute. Some are unsettling. Some look like they were probably rejected for a reason.

Many sketches have multiple versions made by different artists, so the same idea can appear in wildly different styles. Contributors are credited directly in the in-game Glossary, with links to their work when requested.

The inconsistency is part of the identity of the game. You are fighting your way through a giant Gallery made by many different hands, and it only gets stranger as you go.

FROM TRASH DOODLE TO SOMETHING MUCH WORSE

You begin as a sketch your creator did not even want.

At first, there is not much to you. A few stats. A few upgrades. A few enemies standing between you and whatever comes next.

Then everything grows.

One system becomes five. A handful of stats becomes dozens. Small upgrades become interconnected machines. Numbers that once seemed absurd become insignificant. Mechanics you thought you understood turn out to be foundations for something larger.

And somewhere beyond all of it lies the answer to the ultimate question of life - at least your Rejected Draft's life.

Your creator put you in the trash. Proving them wrong is going to take a while.
