What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The Engine and the Community

We are developing LowPolygon 2.0 using our own C++-based graphics engine and bgfx. Early Access allows us to refine performance and compatibility with different hardware (such as low-power processors) while players explore the maze. We want the community to be part of the process of balancing the beach ball physics and the difficulty of the zombie hordes.
Multiplayer Evolution

The game already features a fully functional 4-player local co-op mode. During Early Access, we plan to expand network capabilities (native sockets) to deliver a robust multiplayer experience, guided by direct feedback from players each week.
Procedural Content

Although the maze generation system is already infinite, we want to add new biomes, zombie types, and ball variants with special physics. Early Access is the ideal setting to experiment with these mechanics before the final release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“1 year”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game already features a fully functional 4-player local co-op mode. During Early Access, we plan to expand network capabilities (native sockets) to deliver a robust multiplayer experience, guided by direct feedback from players each week.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable from start to finish. All core features are implemented and working:

- **Local split-screen co-op** for 1 to 4 players
- **Procedurally generated mazes** that never repeat across runs
- **Zombie horde combat**: charge and launch a ball to eliminate enemies
- **Revive system**: bring fallen teammates back into the game
- **Leaderboard**: players compete for the top score within the same session
- **Configurable difficulty**
- **Custom voice recording** for in-game player callouts

For a full list of features, please refer to the "About This Game" section on our store page. The game already features a fully functional 4-player local co-op mode.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as we release new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will directly shape the power-up items added during Early Access. Our planned expansions — a dog companion that fetches the ball and fights zombies, deployable mines, one-time-use suits that redirect zombie behavior, and an auto-reviver — will be prioritized based on what players find most compelling.

We will actively monitor the **Steam Community Hub** and our **Discord server** for suggestions, bug reports, and feature requests. We plan to post regular announcements detailing what has changed in response to player feedback. Votes and discussions in the forums will help us decide which features to tackle next.”

About This Game

Race through the maze. Survive the horde. Top the leaderboard.

Low Polygon is a fast-paced local-multiplayer action game for 1–4 players. Every run drops you into a brand-new procedurally generated maze swarming with zombie hordes. Blast your way through, keep your teammates alive, and fight for the top spot on the real-time leaderboard.

Core Mechanic — The Chargeable Ball

Your only weapon is a single ball — and after you throw it, you have to go get it back. On impact, the zombie is launched into the air by physics, crashes to the ground and dies. The real skill is in the cycle: charge your throw, take out the zombie, dash to recover the ball, and dodge the rest of the horde in between. A well-placed throw can ricochet and hit a second enemy.

Key Features

  • Procedurally generated mazes — every run is a different map with different zombie spawns; no two sessions play the same

  • Local split-screen for 1–4 players — mix keyboard and gamepads freely

  • Cooperative revival — when a teammate falls in combat, another player can revive them; losing a teammate makes the run harder for everyone

  • Real-time leaderboard — killing zombies earns points; reviving a teammate scores more than a kill; dying costs you points

  • Configurable difficulty — scale the zombie count and aggression to match your group

  • 6 music tracks — licensed from a music platform

  • 2 character voices (1 male, 1 female) with contextual voice lines throughout the run

  • Custom voice recording — record your own voice and hear yourself in-game

Every Run Is a New Challenge

The maze layout, zombie positions, and escape route change completely each session. There is no memorising the path — you have to adapt on the fly, every time.

Original, Hand-Crafted Content

Every 3D model, texture, and voice line was created from scratch by the team. Low Polygon runs on a custom C++20 engine — not Unity, not Unreal — built entirely by LowPolygon Team.
