Easy to learn, hard to put down: place tiles, match color or symbol, clear passages from the board. The casual classic is back — completely revamped, with four modes, over 300 levels, and for the first time two players on one screen: together or in a duel.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to improve the game based on initial user feedback. In particular the two multiplayer modes, Duel and Coop, should be played by our community so we can make the right adjustments.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“2-3 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Besides ongoing gameplay improvements, the release version will include more campaigns — meaning more backgrounds and tile sets.

A new campaign called "Art Collection" will be added in the release version.

The structure and order of the levels will likely change.

We want to use the feedback from Early Access players to fine-tune the gameplay.

We see the biggest need for Early Access in the multiplayer area, since these features can't be fully tested by us alone.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version already has all features. We are currently fine-tuning the levels and campaigns.
We will take part in the Steam Next Fest with a demo.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There will be a discount during the Early Access phase; the release price will be higher.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback will be fed directly into development.

The multiplayer aspect in particular is a new feature, and we're hoping for plenty of input from you to help refine it.

We look forward to lively communication with the Steam community via email and our Discord channel.”

About This Game

Passage 5 is the new entry in a series that has accompanied many of our players for over twenty years. The principle has always been the same — and that's exactly the point: place your tiles so that either color or symbol matches the adjacent ones. Complete rows and columns — the passages — disappear from the board.

Sounds simple. It is. And that's what makes it so good: a puzzle you understand in thirty seconds and that won't let go of you three hours later. Plan ahead and you'll clear several passages at once — play by feel and you'll have to get creative.

With the fifth installment, we've rebuilt the game from the ground up: calmer, cleaner, no frills. Playable with mouse, keyboard, or gamepad.

Four Game Modes

- Clear — Free up marked fields. Over 300 handcrafted levels.
- Continue — Keep placing endlessly, as long as the board allows.
- Classic — Classic high-score chasing.
- Construct (new) — The counterpart to Clear: instead of clearing fields, you have to fill specific fields with tiles. Feels different again from the three classics.

For the First Time Two Players

- Coop — Two players on one screen, two separate cursors, shared score. Look at the board together, plan together, win together.
- Duell — Split board, each player gets their own half. Who clears first? Across several levels, best-of, or as Last Man Playing.
- Devices are assigned FIFA-style: whoever confirms on their input device is in. Keyboard, mouse, multiple gamepads — all in parallel.

More Depth for the Veterans

- Four difficulty levels — new addition: Master, for anyone who finds Hard too easy
- Optional move timer on the higher levels — skip it if you don't want the pressure
- Streak system: how many tiles can you place in a row without a mistake?
- Special tiles: bomb, row and column bomb, joker, and blocker
- Symbol numbers on every tile as a visual aid — no magnifying glass needed

High Scores, Saves, and Events

- Steam achievements and Steam leaderboards — new to the series
- Online leaderboards in addition to local high scores
- Events — time-limited challenges with their own leaderboard
- Multiple save slots with individual player names, switchable any time
- Separate high-score tabs per mode and difficulty
