Why Early Access?

“mainly because the game is lacking some features and polish that I would like to add. Things like the space station's health pool and the enemy unit Ai are very janky and incomplete, and I wouldn't want to launch the game fully like that. My goals for the final game are as follows: 1: Polish Polish Polish. I will clean up the systems and make it work better. 2: Implement all intended game mechanics. Right now there is only a set number of waves but I plan to add an infinitely scaling amount of waves. 3: Sound design. Although I have added some of the voice lines, I have not implemented all of them, and I also haven't made the music or the general ambience. These things and more I plan to continue working on and fully complete while my game is in early access. You can expect a fully working RTS Wave based VR game to be finished.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan for the game to be in early access no longer than 3 weeks/a month. By the start of June I would like to be preparing for a 1.0 release. Roughly around 3 weeks is my estimate.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early access is missing some core features, here are some worth mentioning:
Space station upgrades and voicelines. I have the baseline systems in place but have not fully added it in yet. Space station will become a massive vital point as development goes on.
More units. I have 3 more units planned for release and with those units comes new ugprades and dynamics.
Upgrades. Right now all you can do is upgrade your mining asteroids. The final games goal is to have atleast 4 more upgrades that increase your general damage output and other stats like armor n such.
Sounds. This includes music, ambients, missing dialogue, and better balancing of the audio in game.
those are the biggest things that are missing. that and actual waves that come at you from all sides.
There may be more changes but this is the additions and features I would like to achieve before releasing the full game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version of the game right now has you playing through a mini tutorial where it teaches you the basics of how to play, and then throws some waves then ends. The game has 2 fighter types currently, and 3 cruiser types, and only two of which have enemy variants at this time. the waves are short and incomplete, but do function in the sense that you do fight them and if you win you move on to the next wave.

It is buggy and you will break something probably, but that will help me create a better game that everyone can enjoy. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do not plan to alter the price of the game before or after early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Leaving discussion posts or personally reaching out to me would help greatly in figuring out the balancing and polishing of this game. If someone has a suggestion they should! I want to see what everyone has to say about the game, good and bad, so that I can make it the best possible game it can be.”

About This Game

VRTS takes your favorite elements from a space RTS, and puts them into VR! Watch as your ships battle it out in real time and really feel the impact the enemy has on your space station. 

[h1]Watch over the war table as mini battles happen before your eyes, and command your units for the best outcomes.

This game has no story, you are a commander of a fleet and you use your hands to look over the battle map infront of you to defeat the enemy ships. Find new interesting strategies when defeating your enemies. Upgrade your battle station in combat to unlock new bigger and stronger ships, but don't get too greedy or it could cost you the game!

Only one gamemode at the moment, Wave Defense. Defend your base and mine for credits to defend against the ever growing size of the enemy attackers. (EARLY ACCESS NOTE: The waves are finite at the moment, try to make it to the 17th wave!)

Left Grip: Pan Map
Left Trigger: Move left and right to zoom in and out of map

Left Primary Button: Open Inventory
Left Secondary Button: Pause Game

Left Joystick: Move

Right Grip: Grab Unit in inventory or select owned structure/ (In selection mode) Hold and drag while pointing at units to select them
Right Trigger: Interact with the UI (While holding Inventory unit, pull trigger to place unit in a valid spot)/(in selection mode) Order selected units

Right Primary Button: Switch Mode (from selection or placement)

Right Joystick: (pushed forward) telelport/(pushed left or right) rotate camera
