What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'd like to give players the opportunity to take part in giving feedback early on!

I feel like my game is a specific vision of mine and I think it would really benefit from having user input early on”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I would like to enter early access in March 2027 and go for full release by March 2028”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the playable area before the full release, adding more points of interest to discover along the way

Beyond that, Early Access will be used to gather community feedback and address bugs, with any additional content or features driven by what players want to see.

We don't want to make promises we can't keep, but we're committed to making the world bigger and the experience more polished by 1.0.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Most of the core features are fully implemented and playable.

Please refer to the "About This Game" section for a full breakdown of what's currently in the game.

Some rough edges exist and performance may vary, but the game is in a playable and enjoyable state.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I have no plans on changing the price”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm hoping the in-game chat will become a hot spot for all of the fans of the game and we can discuss its weaknesses and strengths”

About This Game

Working From Home is a comedic first-person exploration game set in England during the 2020 Coronavirus lockdown. You made the bold decision to go freelance in March 2020, hoping to earn more money, not knowing what was coming.

With no office to go to and no boss to answer to, your days are your own. When it all gets too much, just go stick the kettle on.

In this horrible vision, we never leave lockdown!

Manage your money

Take on freelance work at your computer to earn money.

As you put the hours in your rate increases and your job title changes, but really it's all just funding the chaos - the gambling, the shopping, the lottery tickets, and yes, you can actually vape.

Browse PuffDaddy for a range of vapes and liquids to try out.

You can even try your luck on WallStreet and try and beat the stock market!

Money matters

You manage two balances - cash in your pocket and money in the bank.

Pay with cash or card depending on what's accepted, and keep an eye on both. There's an cash point if you need to move money around, but you'll need to find it first.

Take care, pal

It's not all fun and games!

You have needs to manage - stay fed, stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and try not to let the stress get to you. Let things slide too long and it'll catch up with you. Yes, that includes going to the toilet.

Your phone

Your mobile is your lifeline. Order groceries through WaitLoads, get food delivered via Deliveroops, check your balance on Swallow, try your luck on ComeAlot, or fire up GameChat to talk to other players currently in lockdown alongside you.

Touch grass

Feel like going outside? Go metal detecting or try magnet fishing. The world is small but there's more in it than you'd expect.

The web browser

The game features a fully functional web browser, not a fake one. Browse the real internet from inside the game, alongside a collection of original parody websites:

  • HateMail - email management

  • Scamazon - online retailer

  • WallStreet - stock market

  • BetUnFair - online bookies / betting

  • ComeALot - online lottery

  • Deliveroops - fast food delivery

  • WaitLoads - online grocery delivery

  • PostMaLoan - payday loan

  • PuffDaddy - online vape shop

  • Swallow - online banking

  • GameChat - multiplayer chat - talk with others playing the game!

Your goals, your game

Want to become a millionaire? Pay off the mortgage? Win the lottery maybe?
