What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We decided to put the game into early access to enable us to interact with the community as early as possible.
Most major systems are in place and the development from here on our will focus primarily on content creation and polish. For both, getting feedback from players to adjust the game in the right direction is vital to us.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Since the game is no longer in active development; it won't be finished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release we plan to add some additional features that add to the depth of gameplay, such as equipment upgrades and medical treatment for characters and a corresponding system for injuries and long term health problems resulting from them unless they are treated.
There is also a host of new content to be added, from additional environmental objects and types of danger (like gas and liquids) to more and more different items as well as improved visual effects.
Another feature we want to implement is character customization, along with more options for their appearances.
Lastly, we plan on adding more different tile sets as the games campaign goes on beyond what is currently implemented, meaning the environments will start to look a lot different the further the player gets in the game.

That, and of course there is lots of polishing to be done, fine tuning mechanics and getting items to feel just right.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game right now represents a baseline of functionality that we will build upon.
By that we mean that most of the systems that make up the game are completely implemented, but not every bit of content for those systems is in yet.

For example, the map generator is fully operational and will create unique maps for the player every time, even though the variety of enemies and objects to interact with is limited right now.

All starting gear has been implemented and is fully functional, but the amount of further equipment that can be found and used is limited right now as well, with more different and unique functionalities planned to follow sooner rather than later.

All characters are unique and have their own traits, strength and weaknesses, but with later updates we will expand on those, add further character customization options, randomization and include more traits for them.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be discounted for those willing to support it's development and buy it on Early Access.
Which is to say, yes, the price will be higher for the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community Feedback is important to us and the development of the games content.
As such, we have set up a forum for feedback and discussions and we will regularly check back with steams forums and feedback threads for input from the community on what they'd like to see more (or less) of and adjust our game accordingly.”

In the 100 years after the end of the world, the survivors and their descendants have settled in and around old, but still functional, production facilities for food and shelter.
When one of these ancient machines breaks down, the community that had settled around it sends out expeditions into the unexplored depths of the facility to try and bring it to life again.
The first 4 of these expeditions have never been heard from again, and the machine continues to stay silent.
