About This Game

When the fire dies, so do you.

Undying Flame is a top-down wave-survival rogue-lite built around one living campfire. Creatures march out of the darkness. Shoot them. Collect the wood they drop. Feed the flame. Survive long enough to discover what the fire becomes.

There is no health bar. The fire tells you everything. A healthy flame is bright, warm, and loud, with embers flying and logs crackling. A dying flame shrinks, dims to red, and goes quiet. Watch the color. Listen to the crackle. Feed it before it is too late.

Choose three. Commit to a build.

Every shop presents exactly three upgrades. Build around seven families: Rapid Shot, Multishot, Explosives, Piercing, Turrets, Hearth, and Guard. Each family branches into specialized upgrades and a mastery. Lock a card, reroll the shop, or spend now and live with the path you chose.

During the Fire, you can commit to three families. Reaching the Star adds a random fourth family. Reaching the Void adds a random fifth. Four endless prestige tracks keep scaling across the campaign, so your build never stops growing.

91 relics. 10 synergies. 6 Ignitions.

Every five waves, choose one of three relics across Fire, Bullets, Enemies, Economy, Turrets, Light and Dark, and Cursed categories. Cursed relics can teleport bullets, create mirror shots, reshape enemies, or bury the world in darkness.

Pair the right relics to reveal 10 named synergies. Combine a mature shop build with the right relic catalyst to trigger one of 6 Ignitions. These are new effects created by the build you assembled, not upgrades chosen from a menu.

Place Watchtowers, Forges, Shrines, and Beacons. Automate collection. Turn every kill into another kill. Build for speed, spread, explosions, piercing, turrets, sustain, defense, or something that should not work but does.

Every fifth wave has a purpose.

Swarm waves test crowd control. Hunt waves test aim and reaction. Siege waves test sustained damage and defense. Trials expose a weakness in your build. Every wave 25 Climax brings those lessons together in a major combat event.

Strong builds get room to breathe after a major power spike, but the darkness adapts. Survive waves without taking damage and the next wave sends more enemies. Get hit and the pressure begins easing back toward normal.

The campaign transforms with you.

The run begins at the campfire. Survive long enough and the Fire becomes the Star. Push farther and the Star collapses into the Void. Your build and relics carry forward while enemies, resources, visuals, and upgrade choices evolve around them.

Gold and Wood become Ore and Hydrogen. The final transformation replaces Ore with Antimatter. The same build must keep adapting as the scale and pressure change.

The Void changes the verb.

Standalone Void runs are a different game. Shooting is replaced with gravity. Pull orbiting matter to your cursor, drag it toward a growing black hole, and spend what it consumes across a 56-node upgrade tree.

Four rulesets change your priorities, not just the numbers. Preserve whole bodies, hunt valuable matter, build fragment cascades, or race the black hole's evaporation.

Four ways to face the dark.

CAMPAIGN

Play the complete Fire to Star to Void run. Choose the standard campaign or one of 14 challenge campaigns with altered rules and permanent rewards.

THE VOID

Grow a black hole through four priority-changing rulesets and a 56-node upgrade tree.

IDLE

Let automation carry the fight while enemies scale to your upgrade power instead of wave number. Experiment with relic combinations while the fire burns twice as fast.

DAILY

Play one shared seed with one attempt each day and compare your result on the leaderboard.

A run ends. The game remembers.

Climb from Ascension A0 to A10. Unlock Warden, Gunslinger, Demolisher, Marksman, Pyromancer, and Berserker through Ember Trials. Continue ascending to earn 12 Ascendant and Eternal mantles that further change how those classes play.

Spend permanent Fire, Star, and Void resources. Unlock 12 fire skins. Complete 30 achievements. Fill the relic and synergy archives, bestiary, and run history. Every run leaves something behind.

[h2>A soundtrack that follows the run.
The 36-track original soundtrack reacts to the current phase, danger, and wave intensity. Use the in-game music player to pause, skip, or revisit tracks, or switch to the fully synthesized procedural soundtrack.

Built for how you play.

Full keyboard and mouse, controller, Steam Deck, and touch support. Automatic last-input detection keeps prompts current. UI scaling, aim assist, deadzone controls, reduced effects, portrait and landscape layouts, and 28 languages keep the game readable wherever you play.

[h2>No microtransactions. No ads.
Buy the game once. Leaderboard submission is optional.

Nothing burns forever. Hold the dark back while you can.
