About This Game

SIGNAL DRIFT

Trust is what desperate people call an unfavorable reserve.

You came up believing the line. Hack the planet. Burn the suits down to the server racks. Information wants to be free and you're the one setting it loose.

Cute.

Out here the underground is a market, the rebels have invoices, and somewhere upstream a quiet buyer is collecting operators like you the second you can't walk away. The corps you hate? They're customers. Your idealism? It has a resale value. Every job keeps your lights on. Every mistake puts your handle on somebody else's hitlist.

So go ahead. Hack the planet. See who's holding the deed.

PICK YOUR POISON

Four operators, four ways to get in over your head:

  • Hacker — scene legend, anti-corporate conscience, allergic to authority. Expose the machine without becoming another machine for sale.

  • Independent — a private rig and a contact list full of liars. Stay sellable or get sold.

  • Spy — a handler, a directive, and deniability aimed squarely at the back of your head.

  • Corporate — inside the beast, filing the bodies under "resolved," wondering when you become one.

DO THE WORK. WRECK THE NARRATIVE.

70+ contracts across hands-on operator rigs: shell pivots, auth cracks, cargo runs, ledger trades, botnet pressure, proof-digging, and the kind of close that changes who you are. Real terminals. Real puzzles. No hand-holding.

  • Read the artifact, not the press release. The cleanest lie is always the newest file.

  • Work the gray market and carry heat, trust, and fallout from one run straight into the next.

  • Scrub the trail or sell the file — every choice mails your biography to a different buyer.

THE PEOPLE WILL COST YOU

Nobody in this scene is a friend. They're leverage with a pulse. Get close anyway — to the ex who still has your keys, the kid who'd take a fall before giving you up, the rival who's seen you naked, armed, and at your absolute worst. Off the clock, it gets personal. The closer you get, the more they can prove about you.

  • Call in favors — alibis, scrubbed records, quiet cash, someone to take the heat — and pay for them in the hold they get over you.

  • At the end, who you kept close gets read back as exposure. Love is the strongest thing you can carry and the heaviest thing they can hang you with.

SIGNAL GHOST — THE WIRE TALKS BACK

An optional neural model runs entirely on your machine — no servers, no accounts, no internet, nobody logging a damn thing — voicing your contacts in IRC. The scene answers in real time, in character, and never the same way twice. Skip it and the game runs on hand-authored dialogue. Switch it on and the people you used start talking back for themselves.

FOLLOW THE MONEY TO THE TOP

The jobs aren't random. A broker thread. A custody spiral. A mirror war. Same lawyer beside three incidents, zero invoices between them. Somebody's buying silence by the ton and stitching the whole underground into one ledger — and your name's getting more readable by the run. You wanted to hack the system. The system's been hacking you back since job one.

MATURE CONTENT

Signal Drift is a bleak, profane, grown-up crime story — betrayal, debt, charged romance, and the ugly math of winning. It's also pure fiction in a sealed rig: no real targets, no real instructions, no how-to. The only thing you can actually compromise in here is yourself.. A crime thriller sim with frequent strong language, charged sexual and romantic themes (fade-to-black, no explicit content), depictions of crime and implied violence, simulated gambling, and drug references. All scenarios are fictional and self-contained — the game provides no real-world hacking instructions and depicts no real targets.

Hack the planet. Just know who owns it when you're done.
