About This Game

Unspoken weaves tactical and strategy games and dungeon crawling mechanics together to craft an intense, twisted adventure. Build your characters, survive battles, explore untold secrets. But never look back.

Make your choices, make your peace.

From the variety of enemies to shifting battlefields and weather effects, battles are fertile grounds for developping strategies and tactics to escape death. Goals can change, side objectives can be followed or abandonned depending on how well (or badly) you fare.

Every battle offers its share of challenges, and losing is not always a dead end.

There are over 30 unique characters to recruit on this journey, and you will need every last one of them.

When a character reaches 0 health, they die. And there is no coming back. There is no way to bring back a lost comrade. The survivors must carry on.

But death is not a set back. It is an integral part of what makes each journey special. Events, dialogues, special interactions... There are a lot of ways to cope with loss.

Facing the Abyss takes a toll on one's mind. Morale is as important as physical health.

Characters celebrate victories, and mourn losses. They develop fears and traumatisms ; and it is up to you to try and keep them sane.

Character's psyches are part of how they feel as units: each has unique traits and hidden secrets to uncover.

Decisions you make will affect them throughout. Some might even leave the party...

Unspoken is tailored around one rule: there is no realoading save files. Each choice is set in stone, so think carefully before frenetically kiling every last person in your way. You never know how it can affect the world.

Don't worry, game overs do not reset the campaign. But they come with a little surprise...

Battles are squirmishes in a war for survival. Characters do not fully heal afterwards, both physically and mentally. They may need to rest, or even consume something to quickly recover.

Items break, and consumables have limited uses.

Managing resources for the group is a constant effort. Do you let a strong unit rest at camp for a difficult battle, or do you use some of your precious gold to refresh them? Do you plan ahead to have them ready for the big conclusion?

Know that whatever your choice, there is no path to victory without sacrifice.

Unspoken is not only about fighting battles. There is a world to travel. People to meet, treasures to acquire, occult secrets to uncover, and many more.

Chapters take on the form of a roadmap, from the starting position to the chapter's conclusion. What you chose to explore in-between depends on what you are willing to risk to gain better rewards. Rest at a camp to heal, or take on a suspicious group of cultists to maybe recruit someone?

You can also send a delegation to a remote location while the main group progresses, but it means less units at your disposal in case anything happens...

A boss is not only a unit with better statistics and gear. The battle is tailered around it.

Changing battlefield, rule-breaking actions, phases, there are many ways a boss can pose a real challenge to an unprepared party.

Some of them may even grow to gargantuan sizes.

Each character can be equipped with two weapons to switch between, an outfit, a mount, an accessory and a consumable.

This loadout define what kind of ability they will learn in battle. Progress in axe mastery and learn axe-related skills. Or mount a beast and learn more about cavalry.

Characters start with innate preferences, strengths and weaknesses, but your playstyle will define the direction they take.

The one thing that you cannot change is their innate ability: a very important ability that greatly influences their playstyle.

Sprinkle on top of that a few hidden secrets and the mental strain accumulating, and you have an infinity of possibilites to pick from... or to use as best you can in the middle of a harduous venture.

Characters will grow closer as they interact and fight side by side.

There are many boons to having a tightly-knit group of travellers: in-depth dialogues about everyone, rewards, events, even some side quests, without forgetting a neat boost in battle.
