What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“DOMFC is one of the most ambitious football management simulations we have attempted. The scale, 890+ territories and over 2,000,000 players and staff, with a competition pyramid still filling out, means this is a game built over years, not months. Early Access lets us ship a deep, playable core now and build the rest of the pyramid with our community watching and contributing. We want the people who care most about this genre to help shape what DOMFC becomes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Early Access to last approximately 18 to 24 months. This gives us time to expand the competition pyramid into the lower tiers, widen territory coverage, deepen the life events and legal drama systems, and grow the women's and youth football structures. We plan to leave Early Access when the game reaches the full scope described on this page.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the competition structure from around 6,500 competitions today toward 15,000+, by adding reserve leagues, youth leagues, lower-division cups, and more continental tournaments across all territories. We plan to deepen the life events, legal drama, discrimination and social-change, and political-interference systems that are already in the game, and to broaden the Universal Person System. We also plan to build the free Intrasolar expansion covering Luna, Mars, and outer solar system territories, accessible through the Solar Era 2150 and Outer Worlds 2300 scenario modes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core management loop is complete and playable across multiple seasons. It includes match simulation, league tables with promotion and relegation, cup competitions, transfers, contracts, wages, training, youth academies, board objectives, finances, press conferences, and team talks. The full league pyramid ships for 890+ territories, from England's eleven tiers down to semi-professional divisions, for both men's and women's football. The mental health system, gambling, crime events, match fixing, discrimination, fan violence, and political interference are implemented and adjustable through content-intensity presets. The game is stable and tested, builds for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is designed for Steam Deck.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as we ship major content updates during Early Access. The launch Early Access price reflects the current scope of the game. Players who join early get the best price and every future update included. We are not planning a price reduction at full release; the price at that point will reflect the complete game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will use the Steam discussion boards and a dedicated community hub as the primary channels for feedback. We plan to run regular community votes on feature priority, share development updates with specific questions for players to answer, and track bugs and balance issues through player reports. Decisions about which territories to build out next, which competition structures to prioritise, and how to balance the economy will be informed by community input. We want players who understand football management deeply; this community knows what a proper sim should feel like, and we intend to listen to them.”

About This Game

YOU ARE THE DIRECTOR

Director of Management: Football Club is a deep football management simulation. You run the club. You do not watch the matches.

DOMFC is built around three ideas. Every person has a life beyond football. Every club sits inside one of the largest football worlds ever built. Every player can reshape that world through the built-in editor and mod support.

Build a dynasty. Rescue a fallen giant. Take a village club to the world stage. Every transfer, contract, staff appointment, tactical change, and financial decision shapes the future of your organisation.

EVERY CAREER LEAVES A MARK

The teenager you sign today might captain your club for fifteen years, return as a coach twenty years later, and one day sit in the opposite dugout trying to get you sacked. In DOMFC, that is a system, not a script.

Every person exists beyond the pitch. Club legends become managers. Former goalkeepers become scouts. Physios become sporting directors. Youth prospects become rivals. Careers continue long after retirement.

More than 2,000,000 players, coaches, scouts, executives, medical staff, and managers develop through one shared life and career system. Each person has 109 attributes spanning technical ability, personality, professionalism, intelligence, leadership, coaching, management, medical expertise, and hidden traits.

Life events include injuries, family milestones, mental health, career changes, and retirement. Every one of these systems can be adjusted or turned off through content settings. Because each career is generated and then shaped by events, no two saves produce the same football history.

ONE OF THE LARGEST FOOTBALL WORLDS EVER BUILT

Football does not stop at the top leagues. DOMFC simulates the whole pyramid.

  • 890+ territories across Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America

  • 6 confederations, covering FCWO full members and GIFC associate territories

  • 60,000+ clubs, from global superclubs to semi-professional sides on remote islands

  • Over 2,000,000 players and staff, each with a full attribute profile and a life

  • 6,500+ competitions: leagues, cups, super cups, continental, and international, for men and women

Load a single territory, an entire continent, or the whole world.

THE FULL FOOTBALL PYRAMID

The simulation runs, not just lists:

  • Domestic leagues across multiple tiers, with promotion, relegation, and promotion playoffs

  • National cups, league cups, and super cups

  • Reserve and youth football, with an annual academy intake

  • Continental club tournaments, with qualification carried over each season

  • International football and world competitions for national teams

Every competition connects to the wider ecosystem. Promotion, relegation, qualification, development, and club history all carry forward year after year.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S FOOTBALL, ONE ENGINE

Men's and women's football run in the same engine. Transfers, finances, scouting, development, competitions, staff structures, and career systems are the same code for both. This is not a separate women's mode.

Nearly every territory ships a women's structure alongside the men's game, and coverage continues to grow during Early Access. Manage a men's club, a women's club, or both at once.

RUN THE ENTIRE CLUB

Success is built long before match day. You control every layer:

  • Transfers, loans, negotiations, and contracts

  • Tactics, formations, and match preparation, set independently for the first team, reserves, and youth

  • Scouting networks and player recruitment

  • Training schedules and player development

  • Youth academies and annual intakes

  • Coaches, analysts, scouts, and medical staff

  • Budgets, sponsorships, and wage structures

  • Board objectives and ownership demands

  • Press conferences, media relations, and dressing-room management

BUILT FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO MANAGE

DOMFC focuses on decisions, not presentation. Advance through seasons at your own pace and concentrate on recruitment, development, finances, and long-term planning. Build squads. Develop talent. Balance budgets. Survive board meetings. Create a club that outlives you.

EDIT AND MOD FROM DAY ONE

DOMFC ships with an in-game editor and a JSON mod system from launch. No paid editor. No paid database packs. No subscriptions.

The in-game editor changes a live save without starting over. You can edit players (names, nationality, position, wage, contract, ability, and every attribute), clubs (name, stadium, capacity, reputation, facilities, colours), club finances (balance and budgets), and league settings (name, prize money, squad rules).

Mods are JSON files. A mod can override existing club data by stable ID, add new clubs and leagues, relabel competitions, and supply custom club crest images. Deeper modding is on the Early Access roadmap, including player and staff overrides, competition structure editing, and broader graphics support.

NO SAVE STAYS THE SAME

A giant collapses under debt. A fourth-division club reaches continental football. A generation of academy graduates lifts the fortunes of a nation. A club legend returns decades later in a new role. A manager who started in obscurity becomes one of the most successful figures in the game.

Careers, rivalries, and club fortunes carry forward across decades of simulation, so each save builds a different football history. Content settings let you adjust the life-event systems to match the experience you want.

PLAY ANYWHERE

  • Windows, macOS, and Linux builds

  • Designed for Steam Deck, with a Linux build as the substrate (Deck verification is ongoing)

FREE INTRASOLAR EXPANSION (PLANNED)

Football eventually goes off-world. Planned scenario modes will add Luna, Mars, Titan, Ceres, Ganymede, and other territories through the Football Confederation of Intrasolar Territories. Manage clubs separated by millions of kilometres, and build interplanetary dynasties. This expansion is planned for a future update, included free for all players.
