About This Game

Verse Unknown is a single-player 3D platforming game with trailbuffet elements. It is currently in development.

Marrow and her sister Clavi have lived in misfortune their whole lives. After a tragic accident that renders even passively scraping by impossible, Marrow will have to venture out in search of a better home.

EXPLORE SURREAL WORLDS

Each of the game's three main globes contain a myriad of challenges that can be tackled in whichever order you happen to stumble upon them. In between these challenges there are many secrets to find, some useful, some not. Once you've done enough, will you have the courage to brave each globe's trial?

Player expression through exploration is one of our highest priorities. We want every player to encounter something different, for your journey across Lehr to be your own.

GRAB, SHAKE THROW!

Play as Marrow and use her trusty circlet boomerang to attack enemies, interact with the world, and grab objects! Each object has a different function. Some are gameplay altering, while others are just silly knick-knacks. Grab and shake... EVERYTHING. You'll thank me later (if you're polite).

MEET WEIRDOS

Lehr's globes are teeming with characters to talk to. They come in all kinds of shapes, sizes, colors and artistic mediums. Some of them give you quests! We really want this world to feel lived in, so we paid special attention to making each character feel unique while staying cohesive.

A GAME BY CHEY AND ZOE

Verse Unknown is made by CZDOOM, a two-person team literally named after ourselves. This game wasn't made by a computer. It also wasn't made by a massive team of people, each highly specialized in one specific skill. We're unique in that we both enjoy doing a little bit of everything. Whenever you talk to a character, hear a song, fight an enemy... that could be from either of us! Or from both of us working together. We're making this game for fun, for ourselves and as an extension of us. We hope you'll enjoy the ride and find value in it!

INSPIRATIONS

These games inspired us to make Verse Unknown and are still actively inspirations as we develop it. Once it's playable, we think you should give our game a try if you enjoy at least two of these:

• ENA: Dream BBQ - Similar surreal style, studying it has really helped us translate our art into 3D!

• The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Exploring an open world of islands with secrets, quests and collectibles.

• Psychonauts - Creative 3D platforming in a world full of weird characters and attention to detail.

• Mischief Makers - Experimental platforming, free-form movement and grabbing/throwing/shaking objects.

FAQ

When is Verse Unknown coming out?

• We want Verse Unknown's demo to come out this year in 2026. Both of us are working on this game unpaid in our free time, so we don't want to make any hard promises in terms of deadlines. However, if all goes well the game should be fully complete at some point in 2028.

What the hell is a trailbuffet?

• A trailbuffet game, as coined by Zoe Fighters, is a series of varied challenges placed in a large open world which can be tackled in any order (buffet). The player's exploration directly impacts the world and the ways in which they retrace their steps (trail). Our previous game, Fourmiworld, is a very pure trailbuffet.

Is this game related to Fourmiworld?

• This game takes place in the same narrative multiverse as Fourmiworld, so this is a dimension that Wandereye COULD have theoretically stumbled across! However, the two are not directly tied together and this is not a sequel.
