Why Early Access?

“During testing, we identified some core features that players want but are not being offered. We would like to continue to work on these, while letting early access players experience the game and contribute to its final development push, before the final release.”

“2 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add or improve several player experience adjustments, including smooth turn, crouch, run, etc. Much of this is attributed to accessibility, and we want as many players as possible to enjoy the experience. We also have collected feedback on several 'quality of life' elements around the story and puzzle choices in testing, and want to address these and the story conclusion before a final launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable game, fully functional but with noted player experience limitations.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we will offer the game at a 50% discount during Early Access as we address the player experience improvements.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will engage the community on Steam by soliciting feedback on their experience and implementing it into the build before launch. In VR this is especially helpful, since players can have vastly different expectations and insights. Accessibility is a key focus here, so we really hope to involve the community in these requests, as well as through gaming events, social media posts, and collaboration with online influencers.”

About This Game

The year is 2049, and you are NATALIE RAMIREZ, a member of a mission to Mars that’s so fruitless, it’s deemed as the end of space exploration. Shockingly, days before your scheduled return to Earth, you discover a reservoir of subsurface water that resurrects your mission. But when you tell your daughter you have to stay on Mars indefinitely, she goes into hiding, leaving a trail of alarming clues.

With your dream and your family pulling you in opposite directions, which path will you choose?

A Thrilling Space Drama

Embarking on a dangerous drilling expedition, which involves a series of high-octane, physical tasks, the player will unexpectedly receive urgent holographic calls from family members. The player’s desire to complete the mission will inevitably conflict with her wish to save her daughter, leading to dramatically different results. 

Every Choice You Make Matters

Every dialogue choice made by the player is as consequential to the progression of the game as the adrenaline-fuelled physical tasks and leads players onto different paths.

The Ultimate Choice: Mission or Family?

Two critical themes emerge while playing WINTEROVER: on a societal scale, humanity’s mission to survive as a species and, on a personal level, our impulse to place loved ones above all. Players may face the dilemma of choosing between saving humanity or their own family.
