Chess Master Quest is an idle progression game built on real chess. Every puzzle you solve, every grandmaster game you study, and every opening you learn is drawn from actual chess theory — not random mechanics with a chess skin.

You start at a park bench. Through thousands of tactical puzzles, time-pressure drills, and deep idle systems, you climb to the World Championship stage.

10 upgrades across 5 categories — coaching, gear, study tools, tournament prep, and recovery to multiply your growth.

Research Lab — queue long-duration projects across 6 branches (Automation, Analysis, Opening Theory, Endgames, Mental Game, and Tournament Prep) that generate passive bonuses.

Synergy system — combining upgrades across categories unlocks powerful cross-domain bonuses.

Offline progress — your research and training continue while you're away.

Tournaments and Competition

Community Tournaments — enter real chess matches against AI opponents in your bracket, with placement rewards.

Sim-Match events — 20 idle chess events across 3 tiers and 3 time controls. Queue an event and let your stats determine the outcome.

Proving Grounds — an idle auto-battle ladder where your AI avatar fights through 13 opponents from Elo 400 to 2800.

Fatigue and tilt mechanics that reward smart pacing over grinding.

6 competitive league tiers — Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen, and King — with weekly cycles and promotion/relegation.

Play Chess Against the AI

Full chess games against a built-in engine with 6 distinct personalities: Balanced, Solid, Tactician, Endgame Grinder, Gambiteer, and Trickster.

5 difficulty levels and a custom opening book.

Neural Engine Challenge — test yourself against Stockfish at 9 skill levels, from Beginner to Full Strength.

Choose your side and earn mastery XP based on game outcome and opponent difficulty.
