Miksi Early Access?

We believe in building Carnival Horror together with the community. Early Access allows us to share the core experience now — the survival horror roguelite loop, the procedural rooms, and the carnival atmosphere — while gathering real player feedback to shape the game's future. Horror games thrive when players tell us what scares them, what works, and what doesn't. Your feedback will directly influence new content, enemy behavior, balance, and features.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

We plan for Carnival Horror to be in Early Access for approximately 8 to 12 months. During this time, we intend to release episodic content updates every 4 to 6 weeks, adding new rooms, enemies, items, and story chapters. The exact timeline may vary depending on the scope of community feedback and the features we prioritize together with players.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

The Early Access version includes the core survival horror roguelite gameplay loop: procedurally generated rooms, stealth mechanics, the sanity system, crafting, the ticket economy, and the carnival shop with upgrades between runs.

We plan to add the following during Early Access:
- Additional episodes expanding the story and new areas to explore
- New enemy types with unique behaviors and mechanics
- More craftable items, potions, and survival tools
- Additional carnival attractions and environments
- Expanded lore and narrative elements
- Quality of life improvements based on community feedback
- Performance optimization and bug fixes

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The current Early Access build offers a fully playable survival horror roguelite experience. Players can enter the carnival, explore procedurally generated rooms, hide from enemies, manage their sanity, craft items, collect tickets, and purchase upgrades at the carnival shop between runs. The core gameplay loop is complete and functional. The game includes the first episode with its set of rooms, enemies, and story elements. We are actively developing additional content and refining the experience based on player feedback.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

We plan to gradually increase the price as we add significant new content and features during Early Access. Players who purchase the game early will get the best value and receive all future updates at no additional cost. We want to reward early supporters who believe in the project from the beginning.

Community involvement is at the heart of our development process. We plan to engage players through:

- Steam Community discussions and forums for direct feedback

Carnival Horror is a first-person survival horror roguelite set inside an abandoned carnival where nothing is what it seems. Enter through the mouth of a giant clown and descend into procedurally generated haunted rooms filled with twisted creatures, dark secrets, and the trapped soul of a child waiting to be freed.

SURVIVE THE CARNIVAL

Every run begins at the gaping jaws of a massive clown face — your only way in and your only way out. Inside, modular rooms rearrange themselves each time, ensuring no two runs are ever the same. Explore carefully, loot what you can, and get out alive.

HIDE, DON'T FIGHT

The horrors lurking in the carnival can't be killed. They drain your sanity and health, warping your perception with terrifying hallucinations the weaker you become. Use stealth, distractions, and clever item management to avoid them. Drop your radio to lure enemies away while you search drawers and lockers for precious supplies.

CRAFT TO SURVIVE

Scavenge ingredients scattered throughout the carnival and craft potions to restore your health, recover your sanity, or turn invisible for a desperate escape. Find batteries for your flashlight, keys for locked doors, disguises to fool enemies, and incense to keep the darkness at bay.

RISK VS REWARD

Tickets are your lifeline. Collect them during runs and spend them at the carnival shop to buy permanent upgrades between attempts. But every extra room you explore is another chance to lose everything. How far will you push your luck?

A DARK HISTORY

Sunset Carnival operated from 1965 to 1989 as a family amusement park by day — and something far darker by night. Hidden casinos, secret bars, and after-hours shows concealed a sinister truth. A child disappeared during one of those secret events, and their soul remains trapped within the carnival's walls. Your mission: set them free.
