What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Sushi Day’s core restaurant, fishing, and farm systems are playable. During Early Access, we want to improve these systems with feedback from the people who play them.

We are particularly interested in feedback on tutorial clarity, daily progression, economic balance, and how the mini-games feel. Our priority is to refine the existing experience, then expand the world with new recipes, characters, and small neighborhood events.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Sushi Day to remain in Early Access for approximately 6–12 months. This may change depending on player feedback, necessary improvements, and development progress.

Our priority for the full release will be delivering a consistent, thoroughly tested experience rather than meeting a fixed deadline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, we plan to improve the balance and connections between the restaurant, fishing, and farm systems.

Our development goals include new sushi recipes and dishes, additional customers and conversations with regulars, small neighborhood events, further fishing objectives, and restaurant decoration options.

We also aim to improve tutorials, the interface, language support, and performance. The scope and priority of additional content may change based on player feedback and development progress.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes sushi and pasta preparation, ingredient-preparation mini-games, customer service, VIP requests, reputation, and tips.

Players can catch fish, keep their catches, sell them, or use them as bait. Catches can be prepared into restaurant ingredients, and fishing equipment can be upgraded.

Players can also purchase a small chicken farm, care for chicks with daily food, water, and affection, and use the eggs they collect in their restaurant.

Stock management, market shopping, emergency supplies, rent payments, and the goal of buying the shop form the current progression loop. Human and animal customers, conversations with regulars, and light flirting bring the neighborhood to life.

The game remains in development. We are continuing to work on bug fixes, balancing, tutorials, the interface, translations, and performance.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently do not plan to change the base price between Early Access and the full release. Our goal is to expand and improve the game while keeping it affordable.

If this plan changes, we will communicate it to players in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to gather feedback through Steam discussions, player reviews, and responses to community announcements.

We want to understand where players get stuck, which systems they enjoy, and what needs clearer explanation. This feedback will help guide bug fixes, balancing, and development priorities.

We will share significant changes and development news through Steam announcements.”
