Why Early Access?

“Ethereal Storm is a game built around dynamic systems — from its FF5-inspired job system to its layered building mechanics and expansive quests. We believe Early Access is the ideal way to develop a game like this because the interplay between these systems benefits enormously from real player feedback. Our goal is to create a deep, replayable co-op experience, and Early Access allows us to put the core gameplay in players' hands while we continue to expand the content, balance the job combinations, and refine the co-op experience. We are fully committed to seeing this project through to a complete release and are excited to build alongside our community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate Ethereal Storm will be in Early Access for roughly 6 to 12 months. During this time, we plan to release regular updates that add new content, jobs, quests, and gameplay systems. The exact timeline will depend on community feedback and the scope of features we add, but our current target is to have the full version ready by roughly mid-2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Ethereal Storm will include significantly more content and depth compared to the Early Access version. Specifically, we plan to add: more jobs and job combinations to the FF5-inspired class system, additional quest lines and storylines expanding the world, new enemy types and boss encounters, more building options and crafting recipes for the layered building mechanics, additional maps and biomes to explore, improved matchmaking and co-op features for the 4-player experience, full audio and visual polish including additional music and sound effects, and balance adjustments based on player feedback. The Early Access version provides the core gameplay loop, but the full release will offer a much larger and more polished experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Ethereal Storm is a fully playable game that includes the core gameplay experience. Players can currently enjoy: the bullet hell combat system with solo or up to 4-player online co-op, the foundational job system inspired by Final Fantasy V with multiple jobs and the ability to mix and match abilities, the layered building mechanics for constructing and customizing structures, an initial set of quests and story content to explore, and multiple enemy types and encounters. Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No plans to charge more for the game”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is central to our development process. We plan to involve players in several ways: we will actively monitor and respond to feedback on the Steam Community Hub, including the discussion forums and reviews. We will post regular development updates and changelogs through Steam Announcements so players always know what we are working on. We welcome bug reports and feature suggestions through the Steam forums, and player input will directly influence our development priorities — whether that means adjusting game balance, adding requested features, or expanding content that the community enjoys most. We want Ethereal Storm to be shaped by the people who play it, and we are committed to maintaining an open and transparent dialogue with our community throughout the entire Early Access period.”
