Why Early Access?

“Early Access is the best way for us to directly involve the community in the development process. We want to build this game with you. Your real-time feedback will be crucial in fine-tuning the balance of the various artifacts and unlockable upgrades. Furthermore, the multiplayer mode is already playable! However, its core gameplay loop is currently simplistic and it is still missing some of the mini-games found in the single-player mode. Early Access will allow us to flesh out and enrich this co-op experience hand in hand with your suggestions.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate that the game will be in Early Access for roughly 6 months. However, this timeframe may be adjusted depending on community feedback and any new ideas we decide to implement along the way. Our absolute priority is to deliver the best possible gaming experience, even if it means taking a little extra time to perfectly polish the final 1.0 release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full 1.0 release, we plan to significantly expand the game's content in the following areas:

• A Fully-Featured Multiplayer Mode: Complete integration of co-op features with a gameplay loop designed for endless replayability.

• An Expanded Story Mode: The single-player campaign is planned to feature roughly twice as many possible endings to reward exploration and player choices.

• More Casino Games: The addition of several new gambling mini-games to give you even more ways to bet and survive.

• Full Controller & Steam Deck Support: We plan to finalize controller integration so the game can be fully enjoyed on a gamepad and ideally optimized for the Steam Deck.

• Additional Localizations: Translating the game into more languages to welcome players from all over the world.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already offers a very solid foundation with several hours of gameplay, whether you play solo or with friends. Currently, the game features:

• Story Mode (Single-player): The main adventure is fully playable from start to finish, with several different endings already implemented and ready to be unlocked.

• Multiplayer Mode (Co-op): The cooperative mode is functional and playable. You can already brave the maze together and play a selection of the casino mini-games. We plan to add regular updates to this multiplayer foundation to add the remaining mini-games, deepen the core gameplay loop, and make the maze even more terrifying.
Please be aware before buying that the multiplayer is still in its early devlopment stage and currently lack of content.

• Localization: The game is fully localized and playable in both English and French.

• Controls: Full keyboard and mouse support, along with partial controller support (full controller integration is in the works).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price by 15% to 20% when the game leaves Early Access. This lower price is our way of thanking our early supporters whose valuable feedback is essential in helping us make the best game possible!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively involve the community on a daily basis through several direct channels:

• Steam Community Hub: We plan to actively read and respond to all feedback, suggestions, and bug reports on the Steam discussion boards.

• YouTube Devlogs: We plan to regularly publish video devlogs to transparently showcase the development progress of Desperate Gambling. The comment sections of these videos will serve as a primary space to discuss balancing and gather the best ideas from our players.

• Polls & Voting: Whether through the YouTube Community tab or directly on Steam, we plan to run regular polls to let players vote on which new casino mini-games or multiplayer features to prioritize next.”

About This Game

🗺️ EARLY ACCESS ROADMAP

The development of Desperate Gambling is just beginning! Here is how we plan to evolve the game over the coming months.

(Bug fixes are not listed below, but rest assured we are always on the lookout, and any bugs reported to us will be fixed as quickly as possible).

🟢 PHASE 1: Early Access Launch (Available Now)

  • Story: The story mode is already fully playable with multiple endings available. Try to amass as much money as possible and avoid succumbing to the casino!

  • Online Multiplayer: The mode is playable but in a very, very experimental version. Please do not buy the game in its current state if your main interest is the multiplayer mode.

🟡 PHASE 2: Upcoming Updates (Coming Soon)

  • Steam Achievements Integration: Achievements are in the works and most are ready to be deployed. The update to integrate them will arrive in the weeks following the Early Access release.

  • Story: Addition of new games and mechanics (including a Clicker, dice games, etc.).

  • Multiplayer: Addition of content and mechanics in the maze, such as side objectives, new enemies, etc.

  • Balancing and Fixes: Constant adjustments based on your initial feedback on the casino!

  • Improved controller support.

🟠 PHASE 3: Content Expansion (Upcoming)

  • Story: Addition of new endings.

  • Multiplayer: Addition of even more content to the multiplayer mode and new betting games.

  • Localization: Addition of new languages.

  • Alternative Modes: New competitive modes with leaderboards, so players can compete to see who is the best (or the luckiest).

This game features simulated gambling mechanics and themes. All wagers, debts, and winnings use fictional, in-game currency only. There are no in-app purchases or microtransactions, and players cannot wager or win real-world money. The gambling elements are presented purely within a non-realistic, stylized horror and management context. Additionally, the game contains elements of psychological horror and instances of mild, fictional violence, such as slapping characters to steal money.
