Fall of an Empire uses local AI models to generate narrative events that respond to the state of your empire. The base game includes Small and Medium models that run on most modern GPUs.

This free DLC adds the Large model - a 9B-parameter model at Q8 quantisation. It draws on a wider range of vocabulary and sentence structure, producing events with more variety and nuance than the smaller models.

What's different:

- More varied writing with fewer repeated phrases and patterns

- Better handling of complex political situations involving multiple factions

- More natural-sounding dialogue in character events

The model is packaged as a separate download so players with less powerful hardware don't need to download files they can't use. You can select it in Settings > Events after installing.

If your system doesn't meet the requirements, the Small and Medium models bundled with the base game will work well on GPUs with 3-4 GB VRAM.
