What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“BurnerEmpire is a multiplayer game at its core — and multiplayer games live or die by their player population. Early Access gives us the opportunity to build that population gradually while continuing to refine the systems and economy that depend on it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“less then a year”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version today is a full featured corner/idle game that allows you to create empires with your friends. This include daily contracts, cooking, dealing and pvp /pve encounters all while building your empire with your friends in a crew to dominate the dynamic economy.

Our plan for the full version is to tweak features in the following areas as we progress with dialing in the economy:

**Economy & Progression** — We plan to add additional drug types, refined market pricing that responds dynamically to player behavior, and a deeper money laundering progression with more front business options for crews.

**Balance & Polish** — We plan to fine tune the PvP balance, heat tuning, and the overall game economy may be adjusted to balance out gameplay.

**Seasons Rewards ** We plan to expand on the reward area for finishing out the season.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Burner Empire is fully playable with a complete gameplay loop. Players can cook and sell five drug types across eight unique districts, recruit dealer networks that earn while offline, engage in real-time PvP standoffs with gear-based combat, form crews with shared treasuries and front businesses, and launder their way up through eight progression ranks — from Street Rat to Cartel Boss.

Current features include:
- Drug production with quality tiers and precursor management
- District economy with dynamic pricing, travel events, and territory control
- Real-time PvP standoffs with rock-paper-scissors combat, gear stats, and spectator mode
- Crews with shared vaults, front businesses, HQ upgrades, and crew wars
- Contracts & bounties for directed objectives and player-vs-player hits
- Heat & law system with busts, bribes, and lay-low mechanics
- Money laundering through solo channels, front businesses, and a high-risk slot machine
- Daily rewards, weekly goals, and seasonal leaderboards
- 13 Steam achievements and rich presence integration
- Guided tutorial that onboards new players across 16 milestones

The server runs 24/7 with a persistent shared world.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Burner Empire is a living economy where player behavior directly determines what needs fixing, what needs expanding, and what's working better than we expected. We intend to keep that feedback loop tight and transparent. We encourage all to bring your voice to our discord community.”

About This Game

BurnerEmpire is a real-time multiplayer crime simulator that lives in the corner of your screen. Build a drug empire from nothing — one cook, one dealer, one dirty dollar at a time — all through a burner phone interface that stays on top of whatever else you're doing. Set up your operation, check in between rounds of your main game, and watch the money stack while you work, stream, or browse. It's a desktop crime companion that never stops running.

Your Desktop Side Hustle

Burner Empire is built to be a corner game. The phone-shaped window pins to any corner of your screen, always on top, and fades to near-transparent when you're not looking at it. Hover to check your cash. Tap to reassign dealers. Minimize to a tiny pill widget when you need the space. Your dealers keep selling, your heat keeps decaying, your rivals keep scheming — whether you're tabbed in or not. It's idle income meets active crime strategy: set up the operation, let it cook, and check back when something pops off.

Cook. Deal. Launder. Rise.

Start with pocket cash and a recipe for weed. Cook product in your lab, hire street dealers to move it, and watch dirty money roll in — even while you're offline. As you rank up, unlock harder drugs with bigger margins: pills, meth, coke, heroin. But every batch you cook and every deal your crew pushes raises your heat — and the cops are always watching.

8 Districts. One City. Your Empire.

The city is divided into eight districts, each with its own economy and demand. Weed moves fast in College. Coke sells premium Uptown. Prices shift in real-time based on supply and demand across all players. Scout the markets, find the margins, and move product where it pays.

Heat Is Always Rising

Every action leaves a trail. Cook too much, deal too hard, and your heat meter climbs toward a bust. Get caught and you lose your inventory, pay bail, or rot in a cell. Bribe cops to cool things down — or lay low and let it decay. Risk and reward, every single tick.

Real-Time PvP Standoffs

Rob a rival. Intimidate a competitor. Post an anonymous bounty on someone's head. When both players are online, hostile moves trigger standoffs — real-time combat rounds where you pick Attack, Counter, or Defend. Gear matters: brass knuckles hit harder, kevlar absorbs a hit, a burner piece wins ties. Losers go down shaken or locked up. Winners take the spoils.

Build Your Crew

Create a crew. Recruit soldiers, upgrade your HQ, and unlock front businesses that launder money while generating passive income. Level your headquarters to access shared vaults, rackets, and crew-exclusive operations. Strength in numbers — or go solo and trust nobody.

The Economy Never Stops

Burner Empire runs on a live 24/7 economy. Your dealers sell while you sleep. Rivals move on your turf while you're AFK. Markets shift, contracts expire, bounties get claimed. Pin the phone to your corner, glance at the news feed between matches, and make your moves when the moment's right. The city keeps spinning whether you're watching or not.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Burner Empire uses generative AI in the following ways:
During Development
Some visual assets in the game were created with the assistance of AI image generation tools. These assets were reviewed, curated, and integrated by the development team as part of the game's overall visual design.
In Gameplay
Burner Empire features an AI-driven bot fleet that populates the game world with computer-controlled players. These bots use a combination of scripted decision logic and AI-driven behavior modeling to simulate realistic player activity — cooking drugs, deploying dealers, traveling between districts, and engaging in PvP. The bot fleet exists to ensure the game world feels active and competitive regardless of the current number of human players online.
The bot fleet is not generative AI in the traditional sense — it does not produce text, images, or creative content. It is a behavioral simulation system designed to make the multiplayer environment feel alive during off-peak hours and at launch while the player community grows.
What AI Does Not Do
No generative AI is used to create real-time dialogue, procedurally generate game content during play, or make decisions that affect monetization or player accounts.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Burner Empire simulates the operation of a criminal drug empire. Players produce and distribute illegal drugs, engage in player-versus-player violence through combat standoffs, launder money through fictional front businesses, and interact with systems representing bribery, robbery, and police evasion.
The game contains:

Drug references — Players cook, distribute, and profit from fictional illegal substances including weed, methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. Drug use is not depicted or glorified; the mechanics are abstracted as a management simulation.
Violence — PvP combat is represented through a stylized standoff system with no graphic depictions of injury or gore. Outcomes are communicated through text and UI feedback.
Crime — Core gameplay involves criminal activity including robbery, intimidation, bribery, and evading law enforcement.
Gambling — The game contains a slot machine mechanic (The Bandit) that allows players to wager in-game currency for randomized rewards.
Strong language — The game's tone and NPC dialogue reflect a gritty street-level criminal environment.

All content is fictional. The game does not depict real people, real criminal organizations, or real locations. No real money gambling is present — all wagering uses in-game currency only.
