What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Breach Squad is built around a deep, endlessly replayable loop: procedural missions, constant loot, and marines that grow over time—until permadeath makes every decision matter. Early Access lets us balance progression, pacing, difficulty, and the loot/build meta with real player data and feedback, while we keep expanding the game’s content. We want the community to help shape the mission variety, tuning, and long-term progression so the full release feels tight, fair, and highly replayable.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

““We currently expect the game to remain in Early Access for roughly 2 to 3 months, depending on community feedback and final balancing needs. The game is already in a near-complete beta state, and we’re using Early Access primarily for polish, balancing, and final adjustments before full release.””

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to expand Breach Squad’s overall scope and polish across the board. This includes more mission types and objectives, additional locations/environments (new ships, bases, facilities), and broader loot/build variety to support more squad roles and playstyles. We also plan to keep improving the mothership meta progression, tuning difficulty and balance, and adding quality-of-life features based on community feedback. Localization and accessibility improvements are also part of the full release goals.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build is in a near-complete beta state with the core game loop fully playable: top-down corridor breach runs, auto-combat with tactical decision-making, loot drops and build/loadout management, permadeath, and long-term marine progression supported by mothership meta progression between runs. The game is stable and content-complete enough to enjoy right now, and Early Access will be used to refine balance, pacing, mission variety, and quality-of-life based on community feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer Breach Squad at a lower price during Early Access, and increase the price after Early Access as the game reaches full release and additional content, features, and polish are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community through Steam Discussions, regular feedback threads, and social media updates where players can share suggestions, clips, and reports. We’ll actively track feedback and bug reports, run occasional polls on balance and pacing, and use player input to tune the loot/build meta, difficulty, mission pacing, and quality-of-life features. We also plan to share patch notes and development updates so players can see what changed and why.”

Reviews

“Breach Squad is a focused and highly promising production that demonstrates strong design discipline while achieving a big impact on a small scale. Running quietly in a small corner of your monitor, the game is essentially a full-scale RPG, yet it successfully transforms that depth into an autobattler format that never overwhelms the player. Despite offering an endless stream of loot, it features a well-crafted inventory system that delivers depth without descending into clutter. Moreover, every soldier in the game is more than simple cannon fodder — they become characters you invest time and effort into developing, making the risk of losing them significantly heighten the sense of tension. After all, it’s important to remember that at its core, this is also a successful roguelite. A solid recommendation for fans of the genre, and an impressive example for anyone who wants to see what indie games are capable of achieving.”

About This Game

Breach Squad blends the intensity of corridor breach combat with a surprisingly corner-friendly flow: You can keep it running in a small window on the side of your monitor while you go about your day. The action continues on its own, and you step in like a tactical officer when it matters - pick the mission, assign gear, shape builds, and make the calls that decide who comes home.

It’s a loot grinder with consequences. Your marines grow into real characters over time - levels, skills, roles, loadouts -until one bad breach ends a career forever.

Play actively or play passively: Focus in during high-stakes moments, then let the squad push forward while you handle other things.

Every run is a fast, replayable operation:

  • Runs can be as short as 2 minutes, or stretch to 10–15 minutes

  • Mission choice, risk, and your decisions shape the pace

  • Procedural setups keep every breach feeling different

  • Varied ops & environments: Derelict ships, fortified bases, covert production lines, hazardous labs - rescue, extract, sabotage, destroy.

Your squad handles the firefight - you handle the operation:

  • Choose missions and risk/reward targets

  • Manage gear, roles, and builds

  • Intervene when it matters, then let it run

Marines aren’t disposable:

  • Marines level up and specialize - lose one on a mission, and they’re gone for good.

  • The tension is real - every breach is a decision

  • Armor keeps them alive. Weapons drop targets. Gear shifts the odds. But the officer on overwatch makes the calls that matter.

Between runs, return to your ship:

  • Unlock new systems and capabilities

  • Build a stronger squad over time

  • Prepare for tougher, higher-stakes breaches

The grind is the fun:

  • Constant gear drops and upgrades

  • Build variety through loadouts and roles

  • Optimize your squad across runs

  • Top-down sci-fi corridor breach combat

  • Auto-combat action with tactical command decisions

  • Roguelike runs (2–15 minutes) with high replayability

  • Permadeath marines: Losses are permanent

  • RPG progression: Levels, skills, roles, long-term growth

  • Mothership meta progression between missions

  • Loot grinder core: Endless gear and build optimization

  • Single-player with a “hands-off when you want it” flow

  • Corner-friendly play: Keep the game running in a small window on the side of your monitor while you get things done - jump in when it matters, then let the squad push forward.
