About the Game

Evidentia is a cooperative detective card game where each deck of cards is a separate, unique story. Murder, disappearance, theft, conspiracy, or an absurd event — every case unfolds in its own time and setting: from the dawn of civilization and the Middle Ages to the present day or the distant future.

Players join a shared lobby with an access code and investigate together. The built-in chat helps coordinate actions, while voice communication is handled separately — for example, via Discord.

This is a game about attention to detail, trusting your team, knowing when to doubt, and not jumping to conclusions.

New case decks are added over time — each one a self-contained story with its own setting, suspects, and secrets. More mysteries are on the way, so there's always a fresh case for your team to crack.

Your Role

You are a member of a detective team trying to make sense of a strange and tangled situation. Throughout the game you'll receive clues, evidence, and fragments of information. Some of them will bring you closer to the truth — others may be false leads that send the team down a dead end.

There is no single leader here. Every decision is the result of collective thinking.

Core Mechanics

Evidence Cards

At the start of the game each player receives 3 random cards. The first card from the deck immediately appears on the table for all players and sets the direction of the investigation.

False Clues and Risk

Not every card is useful. If a card seems odd or irrelevant to you — feel free to discard it. But be careful: wrong decisions hurt your final score.

Hidden Clues and the Die

Some cards contain hidden parts of an image or text. To reveal them, you need to roll the die.

Roll the die — but remember, the risk is in your hands.

Random Events

Strange and unexpected events can occur during the investigation. They may cause players to lose cards — or grant additional clues. There's no full control, and that's exactly what makes each session unpredictable.

The Discard Pile

If fewer than the required number of cards are discarded by the end of the game — the game ends early in defeat.

Solve the puzzles

Work through the riddles and puzzles woven into the cards — tackle them together with your team, or take the investigation solo.

Final Stage

Once all cards have been played or discarded, the final discussion begins. At this stage players are allowed to talk through the discarded cards and piece together a complete picture of events.

After that, players open the envelope with questions. Each person answers as they see fit — even if the team disagrees.

Replayability

Each case is unique and can only be played once. Once you know the solution, the experience is gone. That's why Evidentia encourages players to try new decks and share the experience with other groups.
