Zap Colony⚡ is a minimalist, real-time strategy sim where you design and optimize a powered defense grid for a colony on an alien planet. Plan at your own pace with active pause, reroute on the fly, then scramble when the map zooms out and resources run thin.

PLAYING ZAP COLONY

The game takes place on a grid-based map, with colony buildings and alien hives spawning outside of your control. Your job is to defend the colony from differently colored Starclops by strategically placing Towers, upgrading them, and connecting them to a power source of matching color. Sounds easy? Success is measured by how long you can hold out before the colony is overrun.

A typical Zap Colony session lasts 20–40 minutes. The game unfolds in weeks: each week you choose one of two resource packs, letting you keep building and adapting your defense network as enemy numbers grow and the map expands.

You’ll manage five resources: Towers (zap Starclops), Power Plants (built on craters to extract colored power), Cables (link Towers to Power Plants), Splitters (divide a cable’s power), and Scaffolds (let cables cross other cables or span mountains).
