About This Game

Aether Rift is a game about harvesting energy from an unstable dimensional rift. It is a deep incremental strategy game with procedural visuals, meaningful decisions, and a rift that really does not want you to succeed.

Tap the Rift

The rift bleeds energy. Your job is to take it. Place constructs around the rift to siphon Aether, your most basic resource. Go deeper and the energy gets stranger: Ignis from the molten layers, Cryo from the frozen ones, chaotic Flux, pure Void, volatile Plasma, and concentrated Aetherium. The rift has a lot to give. It just doesn't want to.

Build Your Engine

Constructs are how you get things done. Siphons harvest. Amplifiers boost. Forges convert one resource into another. Anchors keep everything from falling apart. Place them carefully, because proximity matters. Put the right constructs next to each other and synergy combos kick in. Specialize them to fine-tune your strategy. There are a lot of ways to build, and most of them work. Some of them work really well.

Manage the Instability

Every resource you extract makes the rift angrier. Instability climbs. If it hits the cap, the rift collapses and takes your progress with it. You can fight it with Stabilizers and research. Or you can lean into it, because some of the best upgrades turn instability into a weapon.

Collapse and Grow Stronger

When you're ready, trigger a controlled collapse. The rift shatters and reforms, leaving behind Rift Shards. Spend them in the Rift Constellation, a prestige tree with four paths:

  • Stability: Tame the rift. Reduce instability, boost decay, convert danger into production.

  • Constructs: More slots, stronger builds, fusion, overclocking.

  • Production: Raw power. Global multipliers, passive generation, resource mastery.

  • Progression: Speed and automation. Faster challenges, auto-fabrication, resource retention.

Each collapse makes you stronger. Each path changes how you play.

Go Deeper

Research unlocks permanent bonuses and new mechanics. Each depth presents a timed challenge that tests your build. The early ones are straightforward. The later ones fight back: progress decays, demands escalate, and the rift starts draining your stockpiles. The deepest layers introduce entirely new mechanics that reward careful planning.

The Endgame

The Void Forge opens late. Craft artifacts that fundamentally change your strategy. Pursue alternate victory conditions. Or trigger Rift Recursion: reset everything for a permanent multiplier and do it all again, stronger.

What to Expect

At your disposal:

  • A deep roster of constructs with synergy combos and specializations

  • A branching research tree with permanent unlocks

  • A prestige constellation that reshapes your approach each run

  • Escalating depth challenges that demand new strategies

  • Endgame crafting with powerful artifacts

  • Every visual procedurally generated in real-time, no sprites, no static art

  • Procedural audio that reacts to what's happening

  • Offline progress, because the rift never sleeps

No microtransactions. No ads. Just the rift.

Will you push deeper?
