What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because we want to build Frocat Puzzles together with the community. While the core gameplay is already enjoyable, the game is not yet complete, and we have many ideas we’d like to expand on.
Our main goals include adding a full story campaign, more unique puzzles, and improving the overall experience based on player feedback. Early Access allows us to understand what players enjoy the most and prioritize development accordingly.
We are committed to actively developing the game, listening to feedback, and delivering a polished final version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to complete it within a year, but it's actually difficult to say the exact date yet.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to feature a full-fledged story campaign with the main characters of the game. More unique puzzles. More mini-stories.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already includes the core gameplay experience: players can solve a variety of unique puzzles, each with its own artwork and atmosphere.
The game also features short mini-stories told through sequences of puzzles that must be completed in a specific order. These provide a glimpse into the narrative direction we plan to expand further.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the price after early access ends.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players will be able to share their feedback through Steam discussions and other communication channels. We will use this input to guide updates, improve existing content, and prioritize new features.”

About This Game

In addition to the main characters (Shaya, Pio, and Glyph), you can look forward to at least three more chapters featuring a variety of puzzles:

1) SECRET PUZZLES (puzzles with question marks)
2) STAR PUZZLES (puzzle with a star)
3) STORY PUZZLE (puzzle with a book)

You won’t be able to see the illustration right away before you start assembling the puzzle. The same goes for the short stories that accompany the illustrations. You’ll see them only afterward. Each puzzle comes with its own unique composition — one that doesn’t appear in any other puzzles — and that matches the mood of the illustration and its accompanying description.

In terms of gameplay, the levels are almost identical, so their main difference lies in their themes and how they connect with other puzzles. Let's go through them one by one...

SECRET PUZZLES: In this section, the illustrations for every single puzzle are drawn by different artists. In other words, 1 puzzle = 1 artist. All puzzles are available to choose from right away, so you can start with any one. Also, you won’t know in advance which artist’s illustration you’ll be putting together. It’s the same in the other sections, but this is where the element of surprise will be most noticeable.

STAR PUZZLES: This section contains additional puzzles featuring illustrations by artists (not all of them) who appeared in the “secret puzzles.” They are initially unavailable, but will gradually become accessible as you complete the illustrations from the previous section.

STORIES: Several original stories, each containing interconnected puzzles. They are solved in a strictly linear order to tell a short, cohesive story. The number of puzzles in each story is unknown at the start.

GAMEPLAY: All puzzles feature the same gameplay — you simply need to assemble the image from many pieces, which don’t even need to be rotated. You can also change the background to one you like better or one that makes it easier to assemble the puzzle. The pieces in each puzzle differ in both number and design, so the difficulty is random.
