What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“RABIDZ is launching in Early Access because the core gameplay is ready, but the full experience isn’t finished yet. As a solo indie developer, releasing now lets me gather real feedback, fix issues faster, and build the game alongside the community.

You’ll get access to the current systems—movement, combat, survival mechanics, crafting, inventory, and early world exploration—while I continue adding new features, expanding the map, improving AI, and polishing performance. Early Access isn’t the final product; it’s the foundation we’ll build on together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“RABIDZ is planned to remain in Early Access for approximately 1–2 years. This window gives enough time to expand the world, refine core systems, add new mechanics, improve AI, and incorporate community feedback. The exact timeline may shift depending on how quickly features develop and how players respond, but the goal is to deliver a fully polished, content‑complete survival experience before leaving Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of RABIDZ is planned to include a significantly expanded and polished experience compared to Early Access. While Early Access focuses on delivering the core gameplay loop—combat, survival mechanics, crafting, inventory, and exploration—the full release will build on that foundation with deeper systems, more content, and improved stability.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of RABIDZ delivers a fully playable slice of the apocalypse with the core survival loop already in place. Players can explore, fight, loot, craft, and survive, but the game is still in active development and will grow significantly throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“RABIDZ is priced lower during Early Access. As more features, content, and improvements are added, the price may increase for the full release. Players who join Early Access will receive the full version at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community will play a major role in shaping the future of RABIDZ throughout Early Access. Player feedback directly influences balance changes, new features, world expansion, and overall direction. The goal is to build RABIDZ with the community, not just for it.”

About This Game

RABIDZ

The infection doesn't sleep. Neither do they. Every night you survive, they come back worse.

RABIDZ is an open-world zombie survival game. You make your own survivor, gather what the land gives you, build a base and craft your way out of the gutter. Then you try to live through the dark. In daylight the infected are slow and scattered and you can manage them. At dusk they wake up, and at night they hunt they get faster, hit harder, spot you from further away and come in bigger numbers. They also keep mutating. Each night you survive makes the next one more dangerous, so standing still gets you killed.

Play alone or team up with friends online to share the work: chop, mine, build, scavenge and hold the line together.

Key Features

- The horde evolves. A mutation system ties the infected to the clock. They're manageable by day, deadly by night, and they get stronger with every night you survive. Health, damage, speed, aggression and spawn rate all climb. Some of them don't shamble. They sprint.

- Build your stronghold. Snap building pieces together on a grid to make anything from a shack to a fortified compound. Choose where you build and build fast.

- Gather and craft. Fell trees, mine ore, and turn raw materials into tools, weapons, gear and structures through a full crafting system.

- Scavenge and loot. Search the world and the dead for supplies. Manage an inventory of weapons, consumables, clothing and resources.

- Fight to survive. Use melee, military fireet and every swing counts.

- A living world. A full day/night cycle, seasons that turn through the calendar year, and dynamic weather from clear skies to thunderstorms, heavy rain, fog anow you play.

- Your survivor, your way. A detailed character creator lets you shape a realistic survivor, then dress them in gear and clothing you find or craft.

- Campfires and shelter. Light a fire, rest and recover, and get ready for whatever comes next.

- Co-op multiplayer. Survive together online

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

RABIDZ contains intense survival themes and frequent depictions of violence. Players will encounter fast, aggressive infected creatures, use weapons to defend themselves, and experience combat that includes blood and injury effects. The game’s world is bleak, hostile, and focused on the struggle to stay alive in a collapsing society.
The story and setting may include themes that some players find distressing, such as:
• Violence and gore associated with infected attacks and survival combat
• Depictions of death involving both infected and human characters
• Dark survival themes, including scarcity, desperation, and the collapse of civilization
• Mild references to alcohol or drug use in environmental storytelling (e.g., abandoned items, world details)
RABIDZ does not include sexual content, sexual acts, or depictions of sexual assault. It also does not portray self‑harm as a mechanic or narrative element.
Players who are sensitive to intense violence, horror elements, or themes of societal collapse may want to review gameplay details before playing.
