What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Before Last Convoy, I spent seven years on a big project. Large team, publishers, the whole deal. During those years I managed to get married and divorced, survive COVID, live through a couple of team collapses (when publishers suddenly "ran out of money"), work for years on "future profit share", and other joys of gamedev.

We had hundreds of thousands of wishlists. We couldn't afford to screw up. But we did — missed the release window and messed up plenty of other things.

You know what? I'm done with that. No more polishing a game for years hoping it becomes perfect. It won't. It'll just get outdated.

I'm making Last Convoy solo. No publishers, no investors, no "release in six months" (for seven years straight). Early Access — because I want to make this game not FOR you, but WITH you. I want to know what you like, what pisses you off, what's missing.

Let's go?”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm planning two to three months, but it may stretch to six. Once the visuals, levels for all biomes, and all faction designs look finished, the base upgrade system is implemented, the level editor and story campaign are done — I'll leave Early Access. After that — support and further development. If sales allow me to hire an artist, I'll replace the rough AI art with better AI art made under professional supervision.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In Early Access: 3 biomes, basic enemy roster, procedural levels, global map.
By release I'll add:

All 6 biomes with unique enemies
Base system and survivors
Story campaign
Polished visuals — if I can afford an artist, they'll refine the AI art to professional quality
Additional game modes
Handcrafted levels — if I hire a level designer, there will be more than just procedural maps
Level editor
Story — ideally I want to add a narrative

What exactly will be there? Depends on you. You buy — I develop. You tell me what you want — I make it. Simple as that.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable. Core gameplay works:

The convoy assembles, drives, shoots, falls apart
Enemies attack, latch on, die
Three biomes with procedural level generation
Bosses, progression, upgrades, different car types, gameplay events (storms, toxic clouds, road decay, etc.)

Graphics are AI-generated for now — it works, looks fine, but if I can hire an artist — it'll get better.
But this is the foundation — not the final game. I'm waiting for your feedback to understand what to develop first (visuals, balance, gameplay, or features).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I'll raise it if the game quality justifies it. I need to not be ashamed to ask for more. Until I'm sure — the price stays. Those who bought in Early Access get all updates for free.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Steam — for sure. Reviews, discussions, I read everything. If Discord is more convenient for you — I'll be there too. Whatever works for you.”

About This Game

The Last Hope On Wheels

Earth is overrun. Cities fell. Armies crumbled. The remnants of humanity fight back with armored convoys. Yours is the last one standing.

Build Your War Machine

Start with a locomotive. Add cars as you level up — turrets, cannons, flamethrowers, generators, repair modules. Each car strengthens your convoy in its own way, turning it into a mobile fortress. But the longer your convoy, the harder it is to control.

Every Car Counts

Each car has its own health. Take too much damage — the car breaks off along with everything behind it. Enemies don't just shoot: some latch onto your cars and slow you down. Scrape them off against obstacles or watch your convoy grind to a halt.

Reckless driving? Hit your own tail and lose it. Masters use this to their advantage.

Carve Your Path

Roads are faster. Off-road slows you down. But your drill doesn't care — smash through rocks, ruins, and enemy hives. The world is fully destructible. Choose your route wisely.

Liberate The Planet

The global map is your sandbox. Choose where to strike: clear easy territories for resources or assault threat zones. Each hex is a separate mission. The more you liberate — the closer you are to saving Earth.

Build Your Base

Rescue survivors during missions. Bring them home. Specialists unlock new weapons, vehicles, and upgrades. Construct buildings, expand your base, prepare for the next assault. Every run makes your base stronger.
