What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Forgotten Requiem is being developed by a small team, and Early Access lets players experience the core combat, abilities, and the first act's story and quests while the rest of the campaign is finished. Player feedback on ability balance, encounter difficulty, and pacing will directly shape the systems as later acts are built.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Early Access to last approximately 12 months, depending on scope and feedback from the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the campaign with additional acts, bosses, enemy types, and quests beyond the first act, continue adding to the Gameplay Ability System with new skills and affinities, expand armor and itemization, and polish AI, animation, and performance based on player feedback. We plan to keep the core combat and ability system intact while building on it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes a playable first act with core combat, the Gameplay System (fire, lightning, and dark abilities), quests, and a boss encounter. The game is fully playable start to finish for its current content, but is still being balanced and polished, and additional content is still in development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're not planning on changing the price when we leave Early Access, though we may introduce a modest price increase as significant content is added over time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll be reading community feedback, bug reports, and suggestions closely and using them to guide balance changes, bug fixes, and future content priorities as development continues.”

About This Game

Forgotten Requiem

Forgotten Requiem is a top-down fantasy Action RPG centered on fast-paced combat, elemental synergies, and a branching narrative shaped by player choice.

You play as Elyssa, who awakens with shattered memories and an unfamiliar, dark power taking root within her. With no recollection of her past or how she came to be here, she must fight her way through a hostile world to uncover the secrets of her identity, piece together what happened to her, and decide what kind of power she will ultimately embrace.

Elemental Combat Built on Synergy

The magic system revolves around three core elements, each designed to interact deeply with both enemies and the battlefield:

  • Fire focuses on lingering effects and environmental control. It creates physical obstacles, reshapes terrain, and amplifies damage over time.

  • Electricity delivers rapid, high-impact effects. It excels at mutating status effects, manipulating cooldowns, enabling emergency crowd control, and triggering powerful synergies after deliberate setup.

  • Dark revolves around manipulation and sacrifice. It allows Elyssa to summon allies, shift enemy allegiances, and trade temporary power or resources for decisive advantages.

Abilities are designed to chain together, encouraging experimentation and build planning rather than isolated button presses.

Succubus-Themed Builds

Elyssa’s powers stem from a dark, seductive magic awakened inside her. Builds emphasize:

  • Allure and temptation

  • Deceptive combat traps and crowd control

  • Punishing specific enemy behaviors

  • Binding enemies through dangerous “agreements” with consequences

Your choices in combat and progression reflect who Elyssa is becoming, not just how strong she is.

Story Driven by Choice

The game is structured into chapters centered around collecting Memory Fragments. Each fragment reveals a key moment from Elyssa’s past, slowly uncovering the events that led to her transformation.

Near the end of each chapter, players face a major decision or moral dilemma. These choices:

  • Shape Elyssa’s personality and worldview

  • Unlock unique abilities unavailable through leveling

  • Influence one of five distinct endings

Your build, abilities, and narrative path are tightly intertwined.

A Story About Truth, Power, and Free Will

Forgotten Requiem questions whether who we were dictates who we must become. As Elyssa uncovers the buried secrets of her existence, you must decide whether to resist this affliction or let it redefine her.

Your actions define not only how the story ends, but also the soul of the being who walks away
