Bravebones is a stressful anti-stress game. Shoot arrows. Miss everything. Die. Repeat. Auto-shoot included (your mouse will thank you). Short runs, bad decisions, and just one more try.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Bravebones is actively evolving. Expect new enemies, upgrades, and content over time.
Your feedback will help shape where the chaos goes next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My goal is end of summer - end of September 2026.
Expect several months of updates while I add content, fix things, and make it better.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include more enemies, more upgrades, and more ways to get into bad situations.

We plan to expand the content, improve balance, and refine the gameplay based on feedback — making each run feel better (and slightly less unfair).

We also plan to work on the usual improvements, with a strong focus on finding the right balance between fun and challenge. This may include additional difficulty modes and new arrow types to keep the gameplay fresh and interesting.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable and the core loop is there — you can jump in, survive, upgrade, and (most likely) die.

That said, balance and overall polish are still a work in progress, and the “perfect fun vs challenge” balance is something we’re actively improving.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be free during Early Access, so players can jump in and help shape its direction.
Once the game reaches a more complete state, we plan to introduce a small price — roughly the cost of a coffee.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will directly shape the game.
I plan to read and consider as much feedback as possible — especially around balance, difficulty, and what feels fun (or unfair).

Right now, updates are shared on the Facebook page, and a Discord server is planned to make it easier to communicate and discuss ideas.

I’m also open to new ways of gathering feedback as the game grows.”

About This Game

A stressful anti-stress old-school shooter.

No story. No drama. No complicated mechanics. No motion blur. No cinematic camera shaking every two seconds.

Just simple hand-painted visuals, a crossbow, and you trying not to die.

One graveyard. One square map. Endless bad decisions.

Bravebones is a fast-paced survival shooter where you:

  • Spawn

  • Move, aim, and let the game shoot for you (auto-shoot — your mouse will thank you)

  • Or disable it and shoot manually if you prefer

  • Collect souls

  • Make questionable upgrade choices

  • Die anyway

Then you try again.

Heavily inspired by Vampire Survivors — one of the best in the genre (in my opinion) — but with more aiming, more 3D, and probably worse decisions.

Early Access (a.k.a. controlled chaos):

The game will grow over time with new enemies, upgrades, and levels.
Or… it might suddenly become a puzzle game.
(Probably not. But no promises.)
