Battle Beants

Act as the steward for the Battle Beants in this retro-synthwave colony sim. Fight the Void using a physics-based soccer combat system, spread music and light to empower your squad, and traverse rugged alien rim worlds with rocket boot, your beant companions, and by surfing on your drones.

Miksi Early Access?

This is the studio's first game. We intend to make a number of improvements/refinements to the "colony AI" as the game matures, as well as expanding on the tunneling and trading aspects.

6 months to a year is the goal.

We plan to continue to improve and greatly expand upon the colony AI, tunneling, and trading aspects of the game. The tunneling especially is a whole proverbial "can of worms" our studio has opened, and we're excited to see where we take it along with the communities input.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The early access version features tunneling, colonists that tunnel along side you, as well as fight back against the void enemies. They will also bifurcate and expand the network of tunnels and expand the light to help overcome the void. These features will be included in the early access version, but will be expanded upon and improved when the game is released. Expect improvements to gameplay as well in the final release, as you can expect bugs, especially visual glitches when digging in the current implementation.

Welcome to the Rim, where neon sunsets meet chaotic survival. Battle Beants is a unique fusion of third-person action, colony simulation, and arcade sports, inspired by the emergent complexity of Conway’s Game of Life.

STEWARD THE COLONY You don’t just build a base; you protect a living ecosystem. You act as the steward for the "Beants" (a hybrid of beats, beans, bees, and ants) whose ultimate goal is to spread light and life through the solar system. Watch as your colony bifurcates and reproduces, automatically assigning themselves to roles like Gatherers, Settlers, and Traders to connect isolated worlds.

COMBAT EVOLVED: SOCCER WARFARE Forget standard gunplay—master the art of Soccer Combat.

Turn the battlefield into a pitch by triggering "Soccer Mode," where your squad treats speakers as goals.
Utilize a physics-based combat system where you kick a glowing ball to strike enemies.
Use your Magnet Tool to pull the ball to you or launch it forward to drill through terrain and foes.

LIGHT THE NIGHT In the darkness of the Void, light is life.

Defend against waves of shadowy drone enemies that are attracted to every light in the system when night falls.
Harness the power of music: place speakers to buff your soccer ball and provide speed boosts to Beants within range.
Spread sound and light to push back the Void and help your colony survive.

TRAVERSAL & EXPLORATION The worlds are rugged, but you have the tools to conquer them.

Master high-speed movement with Rocket Boots, Wall Running, and Drone Surfing
Use a Grapple Hook to pull yourself toward walls or yank enemies into combat range.
Travel through a 3D network of interconnected worlds and portals, managing resources across different environments.
